I remember watching this episode. I also remember thinking that the girl he was involved with was superficial since she was so determined that she was a "staight girl" that she wouldn't pursue a relationship with him because of his body, and was talking about how she wouldn't touch him below the waist. She broke up with him and only came back after he had top surgery, which is just trashy to me. She seemed too preoccupied with her straight identity and what parts he had to be a true lover. And then he made the decision to have bottom surgery after she left AGAIN, solely to please her and keep her even though he didn't necessarily want it. To me, she's an awful partner and doesn't deserve someone willing to go to such lengths for her when she can't even suck up her own insecurity and love him genuinely. I feel bad for this guy because when we transition, it shouldn't be for anyone besides ourselves. If a partner won't be with you because you have chosen not to have bottom surgery (or any, for that matter), then you have a one-dimensional and trivial partner who needs to go find someone else with no depth so they can live happily and enjoy only caring about what parts they have.
