OBGYN appointment

Hello,

I've been on T for over 2 years. I recently started getting some pain in my lower area and my endo said it could be cysts. He referred me to an OBGYN and I have an appointment this week. In terms of shaving down there, should it be or does it not matter? I would like to avoid shaving if possible although I do trim but shaving reminds me of that area of my body and I don't like being constantly reminded.

No, I wouldn't do that. They aren't looking there anyway. It might be handy to bring along a gal, if that would help you.

You don't need to shave. I never have.

Shaving is not necessary. I have had many issues south of the border and never has it been needed. If they need you to shave for a procedure they will almost always tell you ahead of time to ensure that you do so.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm a little nervous obviously because I don't really know what to expect. Hopefully all goes well. It would be awesome if I got a diagnosis that would allow for me to get hysto! But on the other hand, that probably isn't good if there's something wrong. We shall see haha

Keep in mind that Drs normally advise the least aggressive route possible, though its ultimately your choice. If you have ovarian cysts and you say that you have a family history or ovarian cancer (doesn't have to be parent, sibling, etc but can be something like aunt) then you can tell the Dr that you would feel more comfortable removing the ovary. Just something to keep in mind to keep the door open and have insurance pay for it as well.
