Hey guys,

So I went to m clinic for my bi-weekly shot of T into my Quad ( intramuscular). Now well I don't have issues with pain like some have I had almost no hope of ever being able to inject myself. My very amazing nurse told me he takes Sub Q shots ( into the fat not muscle) and recommended me to try it so I could become self dependent as the clinic is far from where I am . I was nervous to do it but I went for it and MANNNN I am so freaking happy I did. Virtually no pain. The needle is like less then an inch and really small. Yes it takes longer to inject the T but I didn't feel it at all. So now I switched to Sub Q shots at half my dose weekly and I get to do them myself!. Now I don't know what law are around the world as I'm Canadian eh. But maybe for dudes who have trouble/pain with IM shots you might ask your doctor/nurse or a professional for more information. Here in B.C they encourage us to be able to do our own shots but I know maybe laws and practices might be different all around.

For real without exaggeration it felt almost nothing and I was able to do it myself which I was never able to accomplish with the long butt IM needles. I've also spoken at length about the difference between IM and SubQ. In terms absorption SubQ is absorbed more slowly through the fat meaning you get a more level T cycle rather then high peaks and dips near the end. I was having trouble with that as well so I will let you know if this helps me ( My nurse told me it helped him) Another perk is that you can chose a more variety of places to do them as long as you got some fat. If you have any questions about my personal experience with it go a head an ask but I am not claiming to be any sort of expert. All concerns involving your T should be talked about with your medical practitioner.

Thanks for this info, I need to remember to ask about this when I get started. Definitely want to do the injections myself, and although I'm pretty sure I could do the intramuscular, doesn't make sense to hurt more if you don't have to.

Did they mention whether the dosage tends to be different due to the difference in absorption between injection methods, aside from needing to do a weekly rather than biweekly schedule?

And is there a way for this thread to get moved over to the T-related stuff board?

My Bad if it's in the wrong place! I didn't even realize

And to answer your question there has been no dosage change for me. My nurse also said his dosage did not have to be changed either but it could vary from person to person. He did mention that it seems to be absorbed through the fat at a more spread out pace.

Thanks for the reply. I guess if just starting T there's a 'figuring out the right dose for the individual' period of time anyway, and a steadier absorption than IM sounds good too.
