I think it helps although it is hard to say for certain. We can not test the same person with and without moobs. It seems the moob fairy has a direct line to the boob fairy.
I have always had moobs, to the point where I was quite embarrassed by them when I was young and overweight. They seemed out of proportion with my belly.
So far, I am really loving the results, although at 2 1/2 months, many transitioners would notice very little. My nipples have doubled, perhaps trippled in length and girth, and the areolae are growing and changing texture.
It was about a month ago that I could no longer think of them as moobs, as they have almost entirely seemed to detach from my pectoral muscles, while gaining an odd and unexpected perkiness. Then there is the breast bud under each that became apparent about a month ago as well, they sit atop my former moobs and slowly work outward, inward and increase in diameter... I say slowly, but in the grand scheme of things, 2 1/2 months? Hot damn!
I consider breast buds to be where the milk ducts seem to be forming, or the fat is truly becoming breast tissue. They are actually rather firm to the touch right now, firmer than my former moobs, and they are of a completely different texture than the surrounding flesh. I imagine, eventually, these buds will overtake all the former moob flesh as well, and all that will remain will be true breast tissue. At the same time, these buds seem to be the main part of my chest that is growing outward and becoming bigger. Also, that budding area is rather erogenous, and new... rather fun to message gently. Not as sensate as the genital area or the nipples, but I would give the buds third place on the erogenous zone list. Women do have it better when it comes to physical sensation. Hehehe. My whole body is becoming erogenous...
I hope this helps someone. I know we are on roughly the same timeline Anita, so with you, I may be preaching to the choir.
It can be odd writing this stuff down in such detail but I notice detail can be lacking in such descriptions. So many people here want to know what it is like too grow breasts. And those of us on HRT really love to talk about ours, but explaining it to a newbie is quite challenging. It is like describing swimming to someone who has never been in the water.
