Hi everyone,

I booked my surgery with Garramone on Wed, and am looking at booking flights ASAP (the prices keep changing so don't want to wait). They gave me the dates for pre-op, surgery and post op verbally on the phone and I have had emails from them since to sign various things and also copies of my prescriptions for pre op clearance and lab work etc, but none of this correspondence had confirmation of the actual dates. (The call was made on a computer and I have a recording of their part of the call so know I have dates as they told me).

Do you think I am safe booking flights, or should I call and just double check that nothing will get moved?

It's Sat so would need to wait until Monday to get hold of  them and just want to book!!!

Thanks

Oh, basically my biggest query is has anyone on here booked with Garramone and then for any reason whatsoever been told they needed to change that date or the office made a mistake and so things got changed etc?

If your surgery isn't until May you can wait two days to call them before you book.

Yeah a good point. However the thing is we are combining this other stuff which makes things more complicated. My partner's spent literally all day trying to look it up (I gave up as it was too confusing for me).

So we're looking at possibly flying into and out if a different airport, hiring a car that we can pick up and return at a different airport, and then booking hotels that do not correspond with our visit. If you do all that separately it kind of doubles the cost. We finally found a way to do it and even then the prices were changing as we were looking it up, and the flights all say there are not many seats left. So we feel waiting a few days could potentially push the price up hundreds. It may not of course but we'd kick ourself if it did, plus don't have the time to spend hours again on Monday figuring new options out.

I don't know why he would change the date.  For what it is worth, his office is a well oiled machine.  Or rather, Garramone is a well oiled machine.  He has his surgery days, his consult days, and his preop/postop days.  They don't change.  I think you should feel confident to schedule.

Thanks Brett, that's also what my friend said who had his surgery just a few weeks ago. It's just mistakes happen (usually to me :))  and I was expecting some written confirmation of the dates in the emails they sent. I just thought it would be better to wait for confirmation before booking.

I think it will be fine too, so thanks for the reassurance!! Yes, we will try and book the flights tomorrow :)

:D

No problem.  The whole thing is so stressful and exciting at the same time, I understand your hesitation to "make a false move"!  lol

Ha, ha, tell me about it. About 30 seconds after knowing I was able to get my referral my brain panicked. Everything just hit, how big this actually is, and that I'm going to be left with huge scars. That and all the other complications of all this. I've really done some soul searching since and feel I have a lot more to do. Luckily it always comes back to I simply can't go back to how I was, I am loving what the hormones are doing (early days still me) and am blessed to have such great support from everyone around me, no way I could revert to living as female again. I guess it's normal and the right thing to do to question this!!!!

That said, I'm all good though (in case anyone reads that and worries!!!!), and very excited :D :D :D

Yes, it is very normal to question doing it.  I for sure did!

Yeah, I'd imagine there's something more wrong if you don't question it.

Oh yes, I think there is also a bit of cushion in his schedule so that he could do surgery a different day (and does very occasionally). I don't think he has missed a surgery in years and years. I might be wrong, but I doubt it.
I got my plane ticket a couple months ahead. Of course I had less to lose, but you can get travel insurance for that kind of thing, I think. Come join the "Clones". :)

Great thanks Jay, that's really reassuring to know :)

We just literally booked our flights and managed to still get the same deal we had found yesterday at the same price so that's all good.

Oh my, it' exciting!!!!! :D :D :D :D

I am seriously lucky to be doing this so soon, I know some guys have to wait ages. Not sure how I'd cope with that.

So happy another clown (I mean clone) will be joining in our "Army of Clones". BTW, I was clone no 2 Oct 31st, a day which shall live in infamy. LOL!!

BTW, on a more serious note, I do anxiety very well. I worried a lot about details which I think was kind of my way of worrying about surgery without actually worrying about surgery. I actually got worried the day before reveal, I was afraid I would maybe regret it somehow or something. I talked to a friend of mine on FB for awhile. Yes it's a big thing!!! But after the reveal I looked at myself and my first thought was "that's what I should have looked like." You will be in very good hands, I think he is awesome and I'm sure you will get everything done that needs to be done.

Wicked, proud to be a Garramone clone. It's funny when looking on youtube, you can often (although not always) tell when the work is Garramone's. He rules!!!!!

Yes, I think we see so many guys going through this process that for a moment it almost becomes the norm and something small. Then when we are faced with it, we realise what we are actually opting to put ourselves through. I think I will go and see my counsellor once or twice before this as I feel that will help to get me mentally in the right place. I know 100% I have always, always wanted a male chest, and have spent years looking enviously at the guys who have surgery and get good results, so I know it's what I need to do!!!! Even if I resent the scars I know I will never, ever want breasts back!!!!!! I've kind of learnt to live them so am not as dysphoric as many of the guys I've seen online, but that doesn't mean I like them or want to keep them!!! lol

Indeed.  This is what I said at some point (this is when Mr. Jay took it upon himself to start calling us clones!  lol)
