Hey every one I was debating on whether I should get a tria home laser romoval system. I wanted to ask my fellow ladies out there. Have you tried it and if so what are your thoughts of it?

I also posted a lot regarding Tria. Simply, it worked very well for me, and it is far more economical than professional laser.

Me legs that are not shaven during the last 1 year.

If you have money for a Tria, you have money for a professional set of laser treatments. Go with the Pro. I remember a post about trias where JennyGirl said that the Tria works and shedding occurs, but it's only a couple hairs that fall out after using it. It would take a long while to get the job done. But she said when she went to a Pro hundreds of hairs fell out on the spot. So it's much more efficient and faster. Plus, if you're on HRT they wont be coming back if your T is below 82. IDK. This prolly isn't true for everyone and YMMV. However, I thought about getting the tria and now Im just going to go with a pro. The reason I wanted the Tria is prolly the same a lot of people want it. It's convenient and at home. But mostly, you don't have to go to a clinic and let them know your trans or whatnot. Well, I know for me my best friend said that why are you even doing this if you're ashamed. And he's right. Not saying this is the same for you but Im sure this is the reason the Tria exists: shame about going to a pro and telling them. For cis females too I might add.

As I posted a few years ago, the doctor's office requested ca. US$500 to remove hairs just in my beard area. And they added that I may have to visit there several times.

With that money, I have removed most of hairs in my legs, armpits and beard area. It is interesting that I can see very fine unnoticeable hairs in my face, as I no longer shave. I did not know that I actually have so many fine facial hairs.

Of course, the results of Tria will differ greatly depending on person. I have black hairs.

I'd still go with a pro. Maybe it costs alot in canada but in Philly you can get six sessions for $300 if not less. Heck, I should look into U of Penn doing it for free for practice. They do it with dental work. I'd just want to make sure when I spend the money the beard is gone. I barley grow facial hair to begin with. Just about 40 hairs on my lip and about a hundred or so on my chin. I got a lot on my neck. But nothing on my cheeks whatsoever. And it's soft and back hair on pale, ghostly white skin. But if I spent $400 bucks on it and it didn't work right away I would be so upset i'd cry for days. I have zero hair on my back and the little bit of torso hair I shaved and it doesnt grow back anymore. I have to swipe over it once every couple weeks. They're vellus now and vanishing more and more everyday. My arm also has vanished and are smooth like a baby's butt. Now I do have leg hair but so does every woman so it doesnt bother me. And it's winter I shave em like once a week. Every girl I know only shaves her legs once a week in winter unless she's a bar fly or prissy or in a relationship with a man who makes her do it cause he whines like a baby. Like my ex. Well he is still my best friend but he can whine lol he actually wants me back and bought me a present he said but im not going to be so easy anymore.

For me its not embarisment that I'm trans. It is the shear cost. I have found deals on living social and groupon for laser sessions at 200-300 for 6 partial face. I unfortunarly grow a face of hair. And it is all dark almost black. There are also my arms and upper legs at the least oh and my chest I want to do. Since my T is still in the 400's I don't see it dropping that low anytime real soon.

I have a tria, I like it. My logic is that I can't even clear one area professionally for the price of a tria. It also got me a free bag and umbrella for spending so much at Bloomingdales lol.

It seems like it hurts more than professional laser though, it is nothing in pain to my one touch or my epilady but sometimes I have to pluck hairs to make the density low enough to tolerate the pain on certain areas. This means that on some areas I have to let them grow enough to pluck and that bothers me.

The biggest thing I like is that it works with my schedule of only two days at home a week and while that is usually the weekend it isn't always, it is really hard to plan something like scheduled laser treatments for me.

I have a tria, but im also a trained laser hair removal tech. I love it. works wonders for me and my clients. Takes alil longer then the high powered stuff at salons and shops, but for a do it yourself, its more cost efficient and works wonders if ya ask me

I got my tria lightly used on ebay for $230. I would've rather gone pro. But, the closest place that does it wants $800 for 6 sessions, which is out of my budget.

The tria seems to be doing it's job. Slowly and painfully. I haven't noticed any outright shedding, but now that I'm a month in on using it there are areas that are unquestionably much less dense with hair.

In a perfect world I'd be able to get one or two sessions professionally and just continue with the tria. But, I couldn't talk the pros into anything less than 6 sessions.  :(

You have to have certain kinds of skin and hair, i.e. dark hair and light skin or the Tria does NOT work at all. I thought my hair was dark enough but it wasn't. I don't have much facial hair, thank God, but what I have is actually harder to remove now than it was, because if you don't kill the hair it can actually come back stronger and thicker. I'm going to need professional electrolysis and I urge any and all of you who are thinking about getting a Tria, even the newest, most powerful one, make sure your hair and skin are the right color. If you have blonde, light brown, red, grey or white hair, or you're dark skinned, don't bother. Not only don't bother, you'll end up making it much harder than it would have been had you just waited.

P.S. Even with a first rate professional operating a state of the art laser, you still have to have certain hair and skin.

Also to add onto that last point the professional lasers cover a much larger range of skin tones and hair colors than the tria. You can now laser hairs that you couldn't in the past with professional equipment but the Tria is much more like older lasers in its limited range. Not sure if the new Tria does this but mine has a sensor and if it detects your skin is too dark it would even let you try and use it.

Also while it works very well with my skin/hair it doesnt do anything about light peach fuzz, it will only effect dark at the root hairs, which to be fair are the hairs I want gone the most as they leave a "shadow" and Dermablend is too pricy to use on more than my face.
