Bleeding at injection site

Every once in a blue moon when I do my injection I'll get a little pool of blood that likes to come out with the needle, probably about the size of a dime. I'm wondering if I'm losing all of the testosterone I just injected too when the blood comes out? I assume I probably went through a capillary or something and the blood came out after the T was already in my muscle, and that it wouldn't have come with it, but I'm not sure.

Any thoughts?

That's normal, and you're right - from what the doctor told me, it just means you went through a capillary. The needle would have kept going past it and into the muscle, so any bleeding likely is coming from above the T itself so you're not losing any.

I've had this happen to me once in awhile when I inject in my thigh. Once when I went too shallow ( my second self administered shot I believe) some T did come out with the blood but it is very noticeable since it's an oil suspension it doesn't mix well with blood and you can clearly see the two separated as they ooze out.

That's why I was wondering if he's injecting into his thigh. Thighs tend to bleed. I don't do thighs anymore because it's too easy to inject into the bloodstream (I don't care for aspirating), but the bleeding was a concern as well since I didn't want to lose anything.

Yeah thighs can bleed but after a while doing injections you just get used to hitting the correct "zones". Honestly it's been well over a year since I've bleed from injecting T. I prefer to inject in my glute but I rotate injection sites to avoid scar tissue build up. Practice makes perfect. You may also find studying an anatomy chart that out lines the veins in the areas you inject. It can help to give you an idea of where to stick yourself and the method of injecting where you pull the skin away and hold it while you inject can help avoid seepage....Z tact I think?

We Z-track, and I almost never bleed. It's usually painless, too; when I'm lucky, I can't even tell when my partner puts the needle in.

That's why I switched to SubQ. Less bleeding and pain from when I did IM.
