<sigh> It all stated in October when I called the crisis line which helped a lot and was referred to my local VA. Since then things have moved so slowly at times and yet sooo...express lanes others. With VA helping my I have become more aware of my "faults" and am trying hard to rectify them (ie...taking everything personal, abusing alcohol, isolating).
So, finally my therapist said "you have to take risks sometime in life" as our session ended. I pondered that for a week and questioned her today about the context and to clarify her usage. After she did, I responded "I want to be a female and have never been comfortable nor happy about who I am and who people expect me to be". Her eyes lit up and she said "thank you, I am sure that was difficult for you, but I needed you to say that". <sigh, what a relief, thought I was going to be expected to take a newspaper add>. Long story short...referral to a physiatrist, then HRT...yay...happy days
