It's been a very long time!

The good news is, after seeing my surgeon for the 3rd time we both finally decided I'm not going to reach my desired weight so he went ahead and put me on the list for the 1st op. \^.^/

But, I'm hoping there's some UK guys here that have the Charing cross experience. I saw Mr Christopher once. But last two times I've seen a foreign guy, can't remember his name. Mr Gaffa or something like that. But my main worry is travel. I live in Yorkshire so I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to get home after they release me from the hospital as its not guaranteed I'm going to be able to get someone to fetch me. So does anyone have any experience on that?? :s

Secondly, what's the realistic timescales for having time off work etc? I work in a call centre so I do sit down all day, but there's quite a bit of travel to and from work which involves a lot of walking. I don't want to take a whole long time off work, is it realistic to believe I can go back to work between ops or not? If not, anyone know if there's any government financial help for long-term sick?

Hey make it good! I was having a wander around the web's earlier and found a post you made on another forum! It was very informative! I have opted for the forearm graft simply for as much sensation as possible.

How is Mr Christopher's work? Is it realistic looking?

Cool, I am glad I could be of some help.

Good luck with the forearm graft, I hope it goes well for you.

I am very pleased with the aesthetics, I think they have done a good job.
Also, with the surgery I went for, I was very fortunate that Mr.Christopher was able to do nerve work on me, so I have sensation. However, I do hear the forearm one provides the best sensation!

I don't have any experience with charing cross (I didn't go through them), but obviously have been to Harley street.
As for time off, for your first op, I would guess atleast 4 weeks...? It is heavy duty stuff on the arm, you will be padded up for awhile and will be very sore. But getting the train back home isn't impossible.
As for going to work between ops, definitely you can. They cant want atleast 4 months between each stage anyway, and you will be healed by then :)

I know I mentioned charring cross earlier but I didn't know it wouldn't be through them, so it is through the London team at Harley street.

I'm excited, but scared all at the same time. The realness I'd starting to kick in and it's strange bag of emotions!

Also, I know it mentioned somewhere they will do the hydro but I also read elsewhere (but unsure the London team do it) is that you can have absolutely every female bit down there removed. Thinking about it now that is something I want. Mr Gaffah, or w/e his name is said they can close up the vagina but I'm not 100% sure what that entails. Sorry about going into detail, but what about any discharge that may be created and it's got no where to go? Or will that area be totally closed and unable to do that?

They can close everything up. Ive not met Mr Gaffa, but being in the same team as Mr. Christopher, they must all over the same thing I assume.
