Does it lower T, and/or produce DHT?

Hey guys, thought I might ask a slightly awkward question.
So you know how people say that after men masturbate, their testosterone is lowered and DHT is increased.
Does the same thing happen with transmen, since we inject testosterone and don't ejaculate to release it in that way?

I'm already 1 year 3 months on T and my changes are very slow. I'm only now getting facial hair (besides the mustache). The thing is, I fell into addiction about 2-3 months into hormone therapy. At one point, I did it 4 times a day. Now, I'm doing it every day once a day, sometimes I skip a day. The longest I ever went the entire year was a week off. Someone told me that maybe that is the reason I am not seeing many changes, since I'm "giving up" my testosterone after masturbating? I was also worried that I shed so much hair because of this.

What do you think?

I don't know enough about it, but I'd say it's possible.

I've read conflicting things about this, but found an interesting write-up about it with a different perspective - this one claims that it's not the act of ejaculating and spending testosterone through semen that allegedly depletes your levels, but that it if levels are depleted, it may be due to chemical reactions in the brain:

Actually...injecting t more than prescribed can slow down changes drastically....so that's probably it

I think the OP is talking about masturbating once a day vs. injecting.

From personal experience I doubt it.  :P

I had a deeper voice and facial hair at 2 months on T and I was so horny I was masturbating every day. Ok maybe TMI there but its on topic anyways. I was shocked how fast my changes started too as I wasn't really expecting anything until around month 5 based on several timelines I read online.

I also doubt it that the amount of T you "lose" would matter. At almost 1,5 year on T I think the changes slow down or the difference is not that much that you can see, it becomes more gradual. At least I think that's what is happening to me now.
If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission.

Ok, I am still no doctor, but after three years of studying to become one I can tell you for sure that the doses of testosterone lost with semen by cis males are pretty insignificant. I have never heard one case of testosterone deficiency due to excessive masturbation, ahah!
Moreover for obvious reasons transmales do not produce semen, so cannot lose testosterone that way. If you think the changes are slow, it is probably due to genetic reasons. I mean, if you look around you'll surely see cis guys in their twenties who look like young boys, and still their bodies have been under the influence of testosterone for 10+ years. It's different for everyone. The only thing you can do is having your T levels regularly checked, and make sure they are in the male range. More than that you cannot do. Don't worry about masturbating too much.

About the article linked by Kreuzfidel, it's interesting, but I think it doesn't apply to transmen. As you said, it says that "excessive" masturbation can have effects on the brain and so reduce T production in the gonads. But again, in transmen T mostly comes from injections or whatever, so it shouldn't affect them.

Even though I am not on T, I agree with the other posters regarding the insignificance of masturbation on T level.
I've always had a slightly higher sex drive and muscle mass than other female-bodied people, and I probably masturbate just as much as you do. It has never affected me much in terms of hormone level (I'm not growing hips/breasts from losing T and generating more estrogen). Coming from that perspective, I am skeptical of masturbation's effect on one's brain.
That being said, if you feel like you are losing T somehow anyway, try exercising, which would increase your natural testosterone. Like others say, everyone experiences T differently. Perhaps talk to your doctor about your dosage if you're really concerned. Bloodwork will show some solid numbers on how much free testosterone you have in your body. Remember that too much T could slow down your changes as well. Good luck.
