Time to celebrate, or time to take caution?

So to start off with, for those outside of the US, or those who live here and aren't familiar with all of our laws, here in the US we have a law called the National Firearm Act (NFA from here on out) that prohibits the sales of certain firearms. Those firearms include full auto, select fire, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns and guns that don't fully fit into any classification set by the ATF aka Any Other Weapon. The AOW is usually a shotgun with no stock, a pistol grip and an 8in barrel....its built like a pistol but it's a shotgun so it's an AOW.

Well usually those license's called tax stamps, have been rather pricey. Well I have herd that the BATF has considered dropping the prices. The price of a class 3 tax stamp (full auto, supressors, select fire, SBR and SBS) has been $200 a year. Recent rumors have those prices dropping to $100. The price for an AOW has already dropped to $5.
Before anyone asks I haven't heard anything about other class tax stamps coming down in price, while I will day it would be nice if the class stamp for small explosives come down so I can buy flash bangs.

So what do y'all say, time to celebrate and buy all the guns we really wanted but couldn't afford the $200 a year expenses for the yearly tax stamp? Or sit back and wait to see if the red flashing lights start going off because of a huge gun grab aka confiscation or other Democrat fueled freak out over evil guns everywhere.

I'm not fully familiar with what your talking about but I have heard that their (the govt.)  gonna be arresting people who havent turned in newly illegal guns in ct. and that supposedly is a house to house search for illegal weapons...idk if its true but it sounds pretty scary to me and I dont own any guns but i believe in the constitution well some of it! Don't celebrate just yet because the tax stamp rules are changing also. You now have to submit detailed instructions including home or storage blueprints of where they will be, how many, what security you have in place, what type and how much ammo down to the round. One single violation and you lose the stamp never to be reissued. I don't know about you, but I don't want anyone to have a blueprint of my house or anything else.

While that is rumored to be happening soon, I do know if it does happen....it's gonna be civil war 2. All it would take is one person firing at the cops to spark it off...and I already know which side I will be on.

If cops come for my gun, I'll let them have it. You know what's more important than a gun? My life. If you're gonna be on the side that gets holes blown through them by the national guard, be my guest.

No offense, but I'm not scared of a couple of weekend warriors. Yes there guns may have the fun switch that my AK is lacking, but we as patriots have one major advantage....we know our woods and they don't. Also we have the Bill Of Rights on our side...they don't.

On the other hand, if they come for your gun, they are powerful enough to come for you for anything.

Transsexuals, among other minorities, have plenty to fear from a government that will disarm them.

I for one would much rather die in a gun fight than in some government run deathcamp.

Many of those "weekend warriors" have multiple deployments to fun places like Iraq and A-stan. Most of them are also from your neck of the woods too.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are "living documents" as in subject to interpretation and revision.  As the American society liberalizes, urbanizes, and centralizes, it won't take more than a few more Sandhook type outrages before the public will accepts that it can live without ready access to firearms.

Maybe, but the exact opposite happened and demand went through the roof.

That was because all the NRA types panicked and assumed that Government was going to start outlawing and confiscating everyone's gunz and ammoes...

I'm not sure this is accurate. Most stores report nearly 25% of gun sales are to first time buyers, increasingly female. Every time I go into my shop or to the range, I see a ton of new female shooters. Most of them look like they are enjoying themselves. My SO happens to be one of them and purchased her first in Jan. '13. But that sort of data is difficult to quantify, but here are some links.

Also, it wasn't really assumed. There was a massive amount of legislation proposed at the federal, state and city level. Thankfully, much of it was defeated. Even in my state, Gov. Brown had to veto most of the newly passed laws. In CO. some members of the state Senate were recalled and defeated. Manufactures have left states that are increasingly hostile towards their industry and invested in new facilities bringing thousands of jobs with them. There was a lot of turnover happening across the country.

The other thing though is there are over 5 million members of the NRA, so it's a little rude to refer to them as "NRA Types." Am I what you would expect from an NRA member???
