Latest Cute Dating Moment

I want to play my part in having more cute and happy posts on this forum. This is sort of a continuation of a thread about the guy I've been dating. If you want more of a history you can read this thread:

So he's been reading a lot since he found out I'm trans. Today he left me a cute voicemail that ended with him reading from his notebook a quote that he got from Amy Bloom's "Normal," a book about various gender-variant people. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read it so he might end up being better-informed than me! Anyway, it says:

"A great many people, sick of news from the margins, worn out by the sand shifting beneath their assumptions, like to imagine Nature as a sweet, simple voice: tulips in spring, Vermont's leaves falling in autumn. Nature is more like Aretha Franklin: vast, magnificent, capricious, occasionally hilarious, and infinitely varied."

Then later he wrote me an e-mail that said: "Aretha > tulips.  xo J".

I'm totally falling for this one. Hope we come out okay on the other side.

Well, it sounds like he is coming around a bit.  That's good!  I really hope it works out for you.

We've done *so* much processing around it so we decided not to talk about it too much this week and it's really the first time he's made any allusion to it since Sunday. So it's nice that it's positive.
