So every summer my family goes to the beach, this year I told them Im transgender so what exactly am I supposed to wear. I've heard about wearing a binder under a rash guard but what about pant's?When I was younger I used to wear bathing suite bottoms under swim shorts but I would get a rash from the shorts rubbing and what if I want to go to the pool? Won't people look at me strange if I wear a rash guard at the pool?

Speaking as someone who has lived most of her life on the male side of things.  You may get one or two looks if at a public pool, but for the most part you shouldn't.

Guys have body issues too, so there are plenty that wear a shirt or such along with their swim shorts.  You tend to see it more often in those that  are overweight, but I've also seen those who weren't do the same.  There are many reasons, like having had open heart surgery and hiding the huge scar (seen this), etc.

A rash guard actually makes more sense than a t-shirt.  A few people my think it is odd, but most will probably not think much of it either way.  Most people tend to just assume the reason isn't their business and move on.

As for the shorts, most tend to be made to be worn without anything under, but I would, and normally do, judge by the fit.  If it was a bit on the loose side and could potentially slide off, even a little, I'd wear one of my swim speedos underneath.  If it fit well, there'd be no need. So I'd go with how well they fit to determine what, if anything, you wear underneath.

I used to wear a t-shirt all the time. No one gave me a second glance. The rash guard is nice as it handles water better, some of them look like t-shirts (though they are more expensive).  I don't know quite what you are asking about the swim trunks. I think that there are ones you can get with a pocket for a packer (or you can rig up your own in the fly).

I wear a rashguard tshirt with my swim trunks, my swim trunks weren't to big, so i didn't wear anything else under them, I was at a waterpark, going in slides and stuff and they stayed on, most happen was I mooned some people, but I pulled stuff up before standing in the water lol Most people thought I was a 14 or 15 yr old kid lol no one really gave me a second look though

What about just budgie-smugglers with a packer?

That rash- are you wearing swim trunks or board shorts? Swim trunks tend to have a lining and they don't rub nearly as bad, but board shorts don't have the lining and if they have a thick seam, they rub horribly. I have the same issue, and what I've been meaning to do is get some compressions shorts or something like that to wear under my board shorts. You could also try wearing some boxer-briefs or something like that under the shorts.

The rashguard is great. Especially if you pass as a young guy, people will probably just assume it's for sun protection. I had a friend and his mom ALWAYS made him wear a rash guard swimming so he wouldn't get burnt.

I wear boxer briefs under my swim shorts. As teenage guys always wear underwear with their board shorts or whatever. I also always wear t shirts while swimming as rashgaurds are klingy and expensive.

Depending how much money you have available, Underworks sells binding and compression swim wear for men http://www.underworks.com/men/compression-swimwear

I've seen men wear these kinds of things to swim laps and to hang out at the beach, and these have the added benefit of binding and encouraging a more masculine form. I've been eying the swim top myself for a couple months, I think I'm finally going to get it.

I know you didn't ask opinions on what to wear on top, but I wanted to mention that over your binder (or maybe over a sports type bikini top so you can swim and not feel gross afterwards), you can wear a sleeveless loose fitting rash guard.

Prior to surgery, if I had worn a regular rashguard my chest would have been obvious, but with the loose rashguard with something under not, it wasn't.

I have always worn board shorts for the bottom with nothing underneath them.  I find them very comfortable.

I wear a rashguard. I'm also super pale and burn REALLY easily so a rash guard is a no brainer. I mean, it's either apply A LOT of sunblock and miss a ton of spots (that is, if I had a flat chest) or wear a rash guard and only worry about funky tan lines.
