Hello, my name is Serena, or at least it will be. I plan on transitioning mtf, though haven't came out. I'm a bit nervous to since I'm not sure of reactions. The plan was waiting until I moved out next year and sending a letter. I'm a bit impatient though, but I figure high school is a terrible time to come out.

welcome serena, its very common to be nervous to come out since you never know how anyone will react to it, I didn't come out til I was 25 to my family and my best friend who accepts it, and I knew that I was transgender when I was 16 years old but never knew there was such a thing so I waited til I found more information on the subject anyway welcome to a good community and helpful site. enjoy your time here.

It's a pleasure to meet you. I've known about SRS for years, I was just misinformed on it. Then I talked with a transgender friend of mine, she gave me basic information on whatever I asked, I did my own research from there.

A big warm welcome to the family Serena! I love the name by the way. You are among family now and they are people you can count on to pick you up when you are down or have fun with. All the information you get here is first hand from REAL people at all stages of transition from still questioning to Post Op and everything in between. Feel free to rant, vent, learn, share good news (we like this a LOT) or just have some distracting fun and meet the rest of the family. Welcome to Susan's, Serena. Coming out is a big and scary step. People can react in the affirmative or the negative. It's something you have no control over. You've shared who you really are, so the ball will be in their court. Don't take rejection as permanent. It's much to digest, so they may come around later.
