I am working my way through a training program to become an LNA (licensed nursing assistant) and hopefully someday an RN. I will be done with that by June and in July I can take the state licensing exam. In the meantime, I am working part time as a seasonal customer service rep for a garden supply company. I am out to everyone important in my life except for at work and the training program, but I desperately want to come out there too. The program is at a Catholic nursing home though, and I don't think that would be a good idea right now. I am going to come out to my manager where I am working and try to present as female there.

I have not changed my name or any gender markers yet, and I will be looking for a job as an LNA soon. Does anyone have any experience with coming out in the nursing/medical field, and advice on whether I should come out while looking for work or wait until I've held the job for a while and then come out? Thanks for any help to this question!
