Quote from: Shantel on July 06, 2014, 10:21:23 AMSounds like you may be getting past the panic attack phase. It must have been horrific, I know I still get all teary eyed whenever I see a film clip of that event.
Quote from: Dee Walker on July 06, 2014, 10:56:48 AMI think I am, finally. Still have difficulty with stories, movies and articles about the actual event. Good to have my city back, even though I live well north now. So many old haunts I kinda missed even when my PTSD was at its worst.
Quote from: Dee Walker on July 06, 2014, 08:49:11 AMWell, more yesterday than today, it's still kinda early.I was in Manhattan on 9/11 and haven't been able to go south of 14th without a panic attack since.Yesterday we went to Economy Candy in the Bowery for hopjes, then to Chinatown, then down to the foot of Manhattan and over near the Freedom Tower. No panic attacks! After that we went up near Columbia to the Hungarian Pastry Shop for pastries and coffee. On the way home we stopped at Sephora where I got samples of six new moisturizers and a new beard cream, (I still have to shave ). It is SO GOOD! My face feels so smooth and the stubborn spot on my neck is smooth, too! What a wonderful day!
Quote from: Allyda on July 06, 2014, 11:07:53 PMWhat is "beard cream?" I still have a few grays I must still shave and these razors are tearing up my skin.Ally
Quote from: Dee Walker on July 06, 2014, 11:23:03 PMIt's a cream and comes in a jar. It looks kinda like cold cream. You use it instead of shaving soap or shaving cream. This one is from "Jack Black" and it's called "Supreme Cream". I've only found it at Sephora. It's a bit expensive, but I've never gotten such a close shave from a razor and not a single nick.
Quote from: Laura Squirrel on July 07, 2014, 11:41:48 AMI was awakened by a knock on the front door. It was the mailman. My two Autopsy CD's and my My Dying Bride CD had arrived. So, that's a nice way to start off the day.
Quote from: Allyda on July 07, 2014, 12:44:58 PMOh, thanks. I was hoping it was a hair remover suitable for use on the face and neck. I guess pretty soon it's break out my tweezers cuz I already have enough facial scars from my accident. I don't need more induced by my still having to shave some patches of skin. Are they the show Autopsy that used to be on HBO? I used to love that show but it's never on anymore.Ally
Quote from: Laura Squirrel on July 07, 2014, 01:19:45 PMLOLNo.Not DVD's. CD's of the Californian Death Metal band Autopsy. Here is one of their "newer" songs. Well...a song they have done since they reformed: "Mutant Village". One of their best and a fun one to actually sing along to (rather than just doubling the growling Death Metal style vocals).
Quote from: Allyda on July 07, 2014, 03:42:53 PMCool, thanks for giving me a listen. Not bad. I'ma little more into Nightwish(pre 2005) and Epica, also Therion but every now and then this girl loves to walk on the wild side.Ally
Quote from: Laura Squirrel on July 07, 2014, 03:55:31 PMCool. One of my favorite Therion tracks.
Quote from: Laura Squirrel on July 07, 2014, 04:23:08 PMAre you a fan of My Dying Bride?
Quote from: Sydney_NYC on July 07, 2014, 10:05:01 PMToday I had my checkup with my HRT doctor at 7 months in HRT. Everything looked good and decided to switch to injections on the estrogen (estrodial valerate) and started to learn how to self-inject. 2 more sessions and I'll be able to do it on my own in August. Now things will really kick in
