I had surgery almost 40 years ago and rarely ever think about it except when I visit these forums. It is irrelevant in my day to day life. If I would stop coming to these forums, I wouldn't think of it at all.

I'd reformulate the question like "Have you ever forgotten you WERE t. ?"
That condenses my point of view, I think.
And my answer would be in any case: YES, for survival, for not going mad.

I forget frequently. Unless I'm in public or in a social situation, it has no bearing on what I'm doing. And when I'm in my classroom teaching, I get into what I'm doing and give no thought to my gender.

Most of the time these days, unless I'm hanging out in trans circles or something really reminds me. But I'm usually too focused on just living my life, now. It's nice.
