I'm now almost 6 months on the hormones and I have lost about 20 lbs. The thing is I have been eating more and exercising the same as before (I used to stay on weight before the hormones).

From others I heard that they gained weigth from the hormones and I even got warned by the doctor that I need to watch out so that I don't gain to much weigth (I'm not heavy or have much muscles).

Does this happen alot or do I need watch out?

Since my doc added Progesterone to my plan I lost 5kg in 3 months without changing my lifestyle. With Estrogen only I gained 3kg weight but mostly water in 4 weeks.

As I understand Progesterone can help by loosing weight if your level is quite low. Estrogen will help loosing muscle mass. Because muscles are more dense than fat you would loose weight by staying at the same body shape.

So HRT will introduce so much changes. The outcome is so much different for everyone.

I've had the same thing happen. As soon as I went on a transition dose of E I started losing a couple pounds a week. Have not changed gym habits and I feel like I'm actually eating more. Its only been one month, but hopefully it continues.

When I started HRT, I immediately started to gain weight and gained 13 kg. for several months and there was no way to drop even a gram, until I started progesterone a month ago - it helped me to drop 5 kg.
I was pretty sure it will happen that way, because I've read a lot of times, that the progesterone level in many genetic women starts dropping in their 30's, which leads to excess estrogen and this slowers metabolism and therefore resulting in weight gain and very hard weight loss. Then, the progesterone intake balances the estrogen and things go back to normal.

I haven't seen my weight on a scale for a while but I have been losing plenty of inches in my measurements. My thighs are tiny and waist tiny and under bust tiny. I'm only about 2.5 months in HRT

Besides the E I'm also on Androcur which also works a bit as a progesteron. That being said it's normal to get Androcur here in the Netherlands as a anti T (and some still gain weigth).

I lost weight when I first started taking a transitioning dose of HRT but eventually the weight loss stopped. Now I look at food and gain weight. When I take progesterone for 10 days each month I think I would actually lose more weight except for the fact that it makes me hungry and I eat everything in sight!

Androcur is actually a little bit progestin, which is slightly different, than progesterone. The progestins are the old synthetic things like medroxyprogesterone, which are known to cause nasty side effects (like weight gain, sometimes hairloss, etc), while progesterone in the form it is present in medicals like Prometrium and Utrogestan, is bioidentical micronized progesterone, which is far more effective with far less side effects :)

Genetics is all I can give credit for any weight loss I have. I started at 142 pounds. I am now 7 months in and I am down to 123 pounds. I do work out a little more and have cut out sodas for the most part. And the weight drop did happen at like 1 month in after the sodaless month. So really that might be why. My family are all super skinny and lose weight really easily. But I was expecting to gain weight since that is something I read happen.
Byes!!!! It's been real but this place isn't for me. Good luck in the future everyone.

I have also lost a lot of weight. I think it's because I lost a lot of muscle mass.

All depends on how old you are, really. After 30 or so, it's a pain to lose weight while on HRT but it can be done. Before that, you've still got a pretty high metabolism to chew on those calories.
