I have been at it a couple weeks now and my voice is just hoarse... I don't know if I am going about the whole thing incorrectly or something.. A lot of things I see and read tell you to start at a falsetto "mickey mouse" voice and work your way down to a feminine voice.. my problem is, I CAN'T EVEN MAKE A FALSETTO VOICE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Are there any resources that people have or videos on youtube or something that have helped you out on finding your feminine voice?  ??? Should I take a break until my throat is back to normal? If so, about how long should I wait? I don't want to damage my vocal cords beyond the point of recovery.

That falsetto thing though... that's what really bugs me the most. It seems like everyone just assumes that EVERYONE can do the falsetto.....

I am a novice with a big mouth.

Always. I mean, never make your voice hurt.   Stop, if you are hoarse. Stop until you can feel that you are better. Don't talk if possible. Stop before becoming hoarse again. You can also go look for advice about repairing your voice on youtube. Be gentle with your gentle self. My opinion is that that is a feminine characteristic that shows in one's voice.

If you read through some of the posts here, there are links to places and bits of information. Also, if you look at the front page of susans.org there are some links.

Look for candiFLA on youtube for some people's thoughts about how they changed their voices. Search this forum for Melanie Anne Philips and Andrea James who have coarses.
I have deduced that I am not wanted here.
