So I'm a new member here, just a little nervous about talking to people. I'm just starting my transition from female to male, first injection was on Tuesday, and I am so happy to finally begin hrt. However, being trans, especially in Virginia, has proven to be a rather trying and difficult experience. My girlfriend is MTF and she's pre everything, but having a worse time of it than I am. I've found that making friends has gotten more and more difficult since I came out two years ago. She came out shortly after I did and I feel like all of our friends sort of scattered once we came out. It's made me really kind of sad that the people we thought supported us turned out to be just as flaky as my so called "best friends" from Junior High. I know this isn't like Facebook or anything but I detest that site to the fullest extent so I came here in hopes that we might find a friend.

So if there's anyone in VA, especially the Richmond Area looking for some new friends (and I don't mean anything sexual in any way, we're not advocates of pervy-ness and my gal and I are very committed c: ) I'd love to hear from you, learn your stories, what transitioning has been like for you, etc.

My name's Akira and my gal's name is Miko. We're fairly young, only in our 20's but we aren't picky about good people C: It would be nice to have someone like us to talk to. So, and I know I probably sound like a dweeb who can't make friends on his own (haha), but I'm just a bit socially awkward (:

Anyone who wants to chat, message me or email me :3

Hey, you have each other :) and eventually you'll find friends that, you know, are not intolerant idiots lol. You will. And I'd love to be your friend, but I live in the UK. But if you're ever planning a trip to the UK, you have a friend here :D

Hello Akira & Miko!
You're not alone here hon, this is a big international family and though I live in Washington state I want to welcome you both! I'm sure you will meet plenty of Virginians here at Susan's Place, meanwhile don't sweat the loss of former friends they obviously were pretty shallow if they are going to accept you both on their terms only. You're both young, you'll make a lot of new friends in time.

A big warm welcome to the family Akira! You have found a wonderful place full of caring and compassionate people to meet and share stories with. All of the information you get here is from REAL people at all levels of transition from still questioning to Post Op. You are by no means alone in any of this and you will always find someone here to ask and talk too about whatever you need help with. Here is a BIG HUG  :icon_hug: to welcome you and Miko to the family and make you both right at home! :)

Welcome and hugs from Philadelphia.

Have you considered or is a local LGBT center available? Perhaps a support group is close by. I say that because community is very important and at those to locations you can find community and friendship potentials from warm and caring people.

Oh hugs for everybody!    thank you all for the loves even if you guys are far away in some cases <3 sjhxdjhnje7 (I think my cat wants to thank you all for the loves too haha she just leaped onto my keyboard xD)
Miko and I have looked into the trans support groups and stuff in our area but most of them are kind of far from our home and the other one that is close is for younger people, like junior high and high school age people so I think we're too old to go to that one (: but I feel like just talking to people here is a big help. it's nice to know that even if some of you are across the world, you still cared enough to share your feels and support with us <3 It means a lot.

and yeaaahhh.... we're big nerds ^-^ Miko is a kick butt gamer and I adore anime and Japanese culture. We go to a lot of Anime Conventions. (they're a lot of fun, three days in a hotel surrounded by people just as nerdy if not more so than us!)

And as for the UK and Greece.... MY GOD I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT THOSE PLACES! Miko and I have a plan to save up enough money to fly to the UK and then travel the world. Our final stop would be Japan of course, but we are planning on spending at least a year in each region. (staying away from the countries that are having... disputes heh) So it's good to know there are others like us across the pond C: across the world really.

so thanks bunches, all of you! sorry I ramble a bit when I post, but I talk a lot in real life so I guess it can't be helped (: I'm looking forward to sharing and hearing stories and making new, not shallow friends <3 you all are awesome *big hugs to everybody*
