I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this and if it isn't can a moderator move it but anyway how much therapy does it actualy take to be accepted for hormone shots cant get pills not covered under Medicaid so stuck with a needle which is fine with me by the way. but just like to know how long it takes since im still pretty new to the whole therapy thing. also I dk what to do about my other best friend he doesn't accept that I want to be a female but my other best friend does, I have 2 best friends but one does accept it but the other doesn't maybe he just doesn't understand but im not sure what to do. any advice would be nice for this.

Therapy seems to take three to four months with a good therapist. After that most endo's will accept a written letter from your therapist for hormones. Provided you find a endo willing to work with a mtf trans. Also expect to wait a month or two for your endo appt.

Some people just don't accept that other people are different. Your now ""other" best friend will probably show their true colors about caring for you. Try to explain why and how to them both and wish for the best. Your going to be involved in allot of life changes! I'm talking from experience and just eight months ago I didn't have.

thanks natallie i came out to him in providence, but i did drink a lil too much not for self medication or anything just was having a good time out with my friends, he accepted it on the spot and he was happy for me.

I have found this to be the standard in my state as well. I like how she wrote "good" Therapist. A good one will make sure you can handle the stresses of transition mentally before giving out a letter. It is called "ethics".

Yeah I tried to find an Endo without a letter and that just doesn't exist! (at least in Kansas...) I hope everything turns out well Lavinia, keep us informed! I enjoy reading experiences from other people.

Did you try Oz? *giggles*

Same in Oklahoma. Even finding an Endo is hard without the HRT being an issue.
