Hi everyone, I am considering starting HRT, but I wonder how to proceed with Hair Removal.  Which one should go first?  I want to start HRT before permanent hair removal but I fear that softer skin may be more sensitive to the hair removal process, so probably it is better to do it as skin is thicker?  What is your experience or thoughts?   Thanks a lot!

It's recommended that you start HRT well in advance before you start laser because it slows down the growth of the hair.

I'm in the midst of hair removal and its a long process especially on the face. I started before HRT and here I am 14 months later still in the clearing phase with electrolysis. I've read all sorts of stuff regarding when to start. Just start as soon as possible is my advise, I did't really notice much difference in the laser and electrolysis pre and post HRT.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

As strange as it sounds I would reccomend laser before HRT if possible just because in my expierence once I was on bicalutamide and dutasterdie many of the hairs got lighter and softer which actually seemed to make laser less effective.

This matters a great deal to my face as electro is going to be required for the light and clear hairs. On the flip side a fair bit of my body hair has also got lighter and softer and in those cases it might alleviate the need for laser on certain body parts.

In the end though your mileage may vary as hair seems to be a very diverse response to HRT with some people having no change at all and others seeing very little body hair afterwards.

Your body hair will thin and become finer on hrt so body hair removal should be quicker if you start after hrt.   Facial hair doesn't seem to change post hrt and it is the area which generally takes the longest and it is the area most of us wish to clear first.   While your skin is more sensitive post hrt I really didn't notice a significant increase in discomfort from either laser or from electro.

So I recommend that while ymmv that you start facial hair removal as soon as possible (which may be pre hrt) as it can take a long time to achieve a full and permanent clearance.  Other body hair removal appeared to be more efficient post hrt but I don't think there is a lot in it, so your call.
