My politics is almost a nightmare

With our government and politics today, it's almost like living in a nightmare because it's so bad and there is nothing me or you can do about it. My parents tell me that basically "Yes, I'm upset, but what can we do?" it is the gist of it. I almost want to move to another country to escape the living corrupt nightmare. What are we going to ultimately do about all of this? Oh well, I guess that no matter what problems our leaders can solve even if they had the guts to, we are trending into a dystopian-type society where robots and AI rule all the jobs once done by humans. How do I deal with that?

Now, here's the part where questioning my gender comes in, my family is conservative, especially my dad. We all watched Fox News before we decided to cut our cable bill years ago. My family is also Christian and believe that abortion should be illegal, at least my mom tries to be more open to LGBT issues. Even my sister who is more open-minded than both parents has expressed that what she thought was Trans* people being weird.

I also don't like having to feel like I have to conform to being a "good little conservative". Many people say that it's OK if you have different views on different issues, but the conservatives and my parents I hang out with, I can not be reasonable or "but populism was what got Hitler into power" sort of stuff. But Hitler wanted to restore social conformity, not progress it. My dad's the harsh one Btw, my mom is at least being more supportive on my desire to think outside my box.

And, that myth about the republicans being more in support of fiscal conservative policies has to stop. The republicans are just like the democrats, who also have a real thing for strict social conformity, so there both terrible in this country.

Huh. I've never seen someone invoke Godwin's Law on themselves,  in their first post. You're good!
