Hello all! My gf has agreed to let me post her photos and ask for opinions on what kind of FFS procedures she might need. She has been having problems being happy about her face lately, so I think that is why she has been giving it more thought. This is something that she wants to do, but she's told me she is still worried that surgery won't fix her problems. Personally, I think she is just being silly, not to downplay her problem any. She is gorgeous, and once she gets ffs I know she will turn heads wherever she goes. However, since I'm her boo, she thinks I'm just blinded by love-goggles (nope!). Anyways- what she is thinking is that she needs her chin and jaw reduced a bit and perhaps some nose work.. also trach shave. Also, she looks a bit miserable in these pics, but I think it is just because she is loaded down with school work and stress and throw dysphoria on top of it all and yeahhh! Not good stuff! :( So yeah- all and any opinions welcome- please be honest! (and just a disclaimer- she knows shaping the eyebrows and a fem haircut would help a butt-ton, however she seems a bit worried since she will be starting an internship this summer and she doesn't want to push any boundaries until she is hired on officially.. after spring next year when she graduates.)

Thanks a ton all :3

oh and she has been on hrt for ~1 year now, so that info might help some :)

Doc said she has been slowish to respond to them though... things haven't really started changing until recently and the bloodwork was always in good ranges! Odd.

A classic beauty with a Romanic nose. If she requires perfection, the nose could be feminized. Less is more with her though. If she sold a different objective in those photos, she would look stellar.

She looks just like a french girl I went to school with :)

I think forehead, nose and chin should be feminized maybe with an eye grow lift. That is one surgery and should help alot.

Gaining weight to fill out her face would be tremendously feminising. Not surgery perse.

Her face is very thin, gaunt, sunken, which makes it masculine.

My first  reaction is that she doesn't actually need FFS, in the sense of being unable to pass without it. She has lovely eyes and great hair, both of which help enormously. I agree that a little more flesh in the face might help - longer on HRT will also soften her, provided she doesn't diet too hard -  and it's also hard to know how well she passes without seeing her smile - the single thing I feel like saying more often than anything else to girls who post on here is: 'Smile!' After all, when do you ever see a photo of a cis-woman posted online without her smiling in it?

BUT ... we all know that there's a huge difference between what other people think someone needs and what they themselves think. So if I were in her shoes, I'd definitely have my forehead feminized, I'd consider nasal surgery and I'd also think about softening that quite angular jawline/chin, as seen from the front.

BUT, BUT, BUT ... I wouldn't do ANYTHING without talking to more than one experienced FFS surgeon. When it comes to medical procedures, it's the doctor's opinion that counts.

Good luck ... If all goes well, I think she could be absolutely stunning.

Um, the first thing she should do is pluck her eyebrows and style her hair. Then, wait another year and see how well the HRT has worked in softening and adding some fat to her face. The only thing for sure I would say to get done is the trache shave. Nothing else seems so bad that it would hurt her passing if the hormones start to work better. I know next to nothing about FFS, though.

Vivian maybe

Nose is okay.
Will likely need a type 3 forehead reconstruction, chin shave, trachea shave and maybe jaw contouring.
Soft tissue work may be needed to, such as brow lift or/and hairline advancement
Her face won't change further in regards to the forehead and chin and etc, estrogen has done all it will do in a face standpoint and those are her biggest passing difficulties.

Also do you know of any surgeons who she wants to go for?
Lazaro Cardenas is really affordable for Americans, and Chettawut does decent FFS and is useful for Australians with locations.
They're both pretty affordable and do good work

Hi muffinpants,

One big problem for people on the TG spectrum is that we have a high degree of body dysmorphic disorder.  Bear that in mind with the rest of this post.

If I were to pass your GF on the street, I doubt I would find anything out of the ordinary in her face.
Here, on these boards, we will tend to fuss over every possible detail as we reach out for that impossible feminine ideal.

If I were to look at her face from the perspective of classical facial proportions (some people would look at the golden ratio in this):
1. Side on the facial profile is basically straight.  The notable things outside of classic proportions would be slightly prominent glabella (aka frontal bossing), a deep mandibular sulcus (resulting in a chin that looks very prominent), and a steep jawline (high mandibular angle).  None of these things are actually that exceptional that I would be screaming DUDE!!  The upper lipline is relatively thin, but that is something that is commonly seen and I would suspect that the lip muscles would be relatively tight up against the teeth.
2. The facial shape is tall - this gives a somewhat more delicate appearance.
3. Noses are noses - that's genetic heritage and it wouldn't be something I would worry about feminising in this case.

If she were absolutely insistent on doing something, I would consider only a small amount off the forehead and a small genioplasty to tuck the chin back a fraction.  Overdoing the genioplasty will sink the lower third of the face in excessively.  The main issue in the chin area is more due to insufficient bone above the prominent area of the chin.  Try putting part of a cotton ball behind the lower lip and you'll see what I mean.  Keeping the genioplasty conservative will reduce the risks of complication - particularly the risk of mental nerve parasthesia (losing sensation around the chin and lower lip).

I'm not a facial surgeon, so please don't take much weight in my opinion. =)

Maybe some work on the brow bossing, and rounding out the edges on the chin.
If I was going for the maximum, I would add a rhinoplasty, a brow lift, and... well, not that much actually, she looks quite passable currently.
This is ok, I guess.

Thank you so much for your replies, everyone :) She has seemed to be in a better mood now that she is seeing the reception she's getting. We both appreciate all the responses <3

Is she interested in nonsurgical ideas, like shaping the eyebrows a bit? :) When I was in the stage of my life I was trying to look pretty, I found a little eyebrow tweak can really soften up the whole eyeshape. I unno. I'm just imagining something that would look great on her.
