Here I am, with my dearest friend, at a local 'male beauty pageant' that I was part of to raise money for cancer or something.. I don't actually remember, but it was a hot day and also a lot of fun! Some random woman said I looked like a bad drag. 

That random woman sounds like a nasty person.  You do look fabulous.

If you were out on the street (not in the context of an event where people knew upfront that the participants weren't "women") and dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or something similarly plain, nobody would look twice at you - in a good way.  You'd blend in just fine.

I'd have said to the woman, "Huh, I was just thinking the same thing about you."  If I was brave and could think on my feet, that is.
