Hi!
So today I went to the doctor because I had a scheduled appointment.

A little history:
Back when I was married, and living in NYC, I went to a pretty popular place in the city... I forget how it's spelled... Callen-Lorde or something like that. Anywho, they scheduled me three appointments, a month apart, first consultation/blood testing, then getting to know me, and the final one was where they were gonna prescribe me lady drugs. Well, wouldn't you know it, the day I was forced to move was the day before I was supposed to go to my 3rd appointment. And I sure as hell wasn't gonna drive all the way down there, pay 30 dollars in tolls, 15 dollars in parking, and then do it all again on the way home. Especially since I'd just lost my job because of the move.

Jump to present day, I divorced the lady (she was slowing me down) and I moved up north a bit and am living with some friends who are completely 100% supporting me. Today I went to my appointment, and the doctor lady was so nice! We just kinda chatted, I told her about how I basically think my penis is just... annoying, and we just kinda shot the ->-bleeped-<- for a little while. Eventually she perscribed me my spiro and e, and sent me on my way! No letter, no blood work, just "Try this, and stick around! Come see me again in a few months, K?"

So I'm gonna do my pills twice a day and in a month, I guess she's gonna check my levels and adjust accordingly. I didn't get the patch like I wanted, or the shot because I'm scared of needles. But because I don't drink like... ever, the pill should be fine.

So yeah, I took my first doses with some milk at 6:30, and i don't know if it's a placebo effect because my mind is so happy I'm finally doing this, but it feels like love, but without the confusion. Kinda tingly... happy... settled... relaxed.

I've started a picture diary as well of my face. I'll take a pic once a week (or whenever i feel like/remember) and we'll see what happens.

You know, I never knew about the bumping into door jam thing until I came to this forum. Then I was all "Wow, these chicks must be stupid... bumping into all those door jams."

Then I started wearing a double padded bra because I wanted to look more female, and I noticed that i always catch them on a door jam somehow... and I don't understand it. So at least I got some practice in that field trying to figure out how to prevent it.

...

I haven't figured it out, but I'm still gonna try!

As for the milk thing, my pharmacist recommended that I take one of them with milk, and the other with at least some kind of small meal, bread, or pasta or something heavy like that. So I just took them both with milk and dinner.

Congrats on getting the girl juice!   I felt so much better after taking it, and it just gets better every day.

Every aspect of my life has improved, even my guitar playing.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again- you will pry my estrogen from my cold, dead hand.

Congratulations :D And placebo effect or not, I felt the same thing a week ago when I started, too :P

As a fellow complete baby to this, I really recommend basic yoga. It's good exercise for the obvious reason, it works out in a way that doesn't build huge ol'muskles, and most importantly it helps you calm the hell down about how exciting and crazy this can feel ;P

This doesn't bode well for me... I am pre everything and I already walk into door jambs usually with either my shoulder or my face... I have luckily reduced my "walking directly into walls" episodes to leas than 2 a month in familiar territory. I think it is a balance issue... I fall over/wobble if I stand still or walk too slowly.
Once I start E I figure I'll get very sore very quickly if this keeps up...

Congrats on starting your HRT!

When i started HRT last week, i felt the same way, calm and relaxed. I believe the reason for this is that you finally have taken steps to start your journey to become the person you always wanted to be and no longer need to worry about that nasty testosterone! :)
