hello all you beautiful people i hope your day/night is going great.
i would like to know is it better to go for laser hair removal on my beard or get electrolysis i have very dark  facial hair but not to much of it if you know what i mean I've heard there both painful to some degree but which would be the best for the price an how long could i expect to be having to go for facial hair removal. I've heard people with dark hair see better results from laser removal is that true.xxxxxx ???

People with dark hair and fair skin do get much better results from laser than those with red, blonde or white hairs.  If you have a light beard, dark hair and fair skin laser should give you great results.  For most of us electrolysis is still needed to remove the hairs that survive the laser

Keep in mins that laser may not penetrate deep enough
For male terminal hair.
Its good for a year maybe than switch to electro
When all or most of the hair is thin and weakened

Ronnie,

My experience is using a "proper" laser system (Lightsheer) I had good removal with 8 sessions ... about one a month.  18 months on I have a small amount of regrowth of dark hair (perhaps <5% and they were the really tough little buggers) and some white hairs (Darn it I'm no spring chicken!) and I'm getting all those treated with electrolysis (Not worth going back for laser for the remaining dark hairs) I'm of a fairly light skin colour.

ok well thank u everyone for the replies its given me a much clearer view on what i shall do i have dark hair on my face but also have naturally tanned skin i don't really have a heavy beard but it will grow back quick sometimes and slow the other times but at the moment I'm just having to shave really close which i have sensitive skin so i cut and get razor burn really easy even when i use shaving gel and moisturising creams I'm currently saving for my transition and its not going well i keep having to make payments for stuff lol but i will most likely see if i can get electrolysis i can deal with pain i have quite a few tattoos i have to get removed :/ so pain isn't an issue i hope  :D

i'd suggest you do laser first and then after your done do electro on whatever the laser didn't eliminate.
at least laser is not as painful.

The e3000 place gives as a prerequisite to their electrolysis that you have not had laser for 3 months prior. I wonder why they say that? I haven't talked to an electrolygist yet, but plan to.

A reason I can imagine is that if you appear to have much sparser hair in an area after laser treatement, then get electrolysis, then hair grows back, it would be unclear if it is the electrolysis or the laser that didn't get all of the hair.

If there is a planned iteration of treatments, it would be slightly messed up by not having a good guess about what state of hair regrowth cycle you are in in the area that was treated with both.

I am guessing. At least, that means that if you plan to go there in particular, know that you would need to wait 3 months after laser.
I have deduced that I am not wanted here.

Laser Hair Removal does seem a lot better for me I'm not really a fan of electrolysis because of needles even tho i have a few piercings and tattoos so the laser sounds more appealing for that reason  the closest place would be Bluewater or London but I've heard a few bad things about laser treatment like, skin discolouration, burning and infection. but those are rare I'm just hoping nothing bad happens

I have a new electrologist in Vancouver bc.
And she is as she says in a ominous voice
" the destroyer of hair"
And she is wow oh wow. Can't even feel the needle going
Down the hair shaft snd she is very thorough.
I love her and I want her to teach me she is so
Good
