Chest pain

So my, uh, "boobs" really hurt. I'm about a 38dd and I only bind a couple days a week. I use a 997 and it's not tight enough that I have any trouble breathing at all. I've been binding for maybe three months.
But I'm wondering if this pain (even 24 hours after taking off the binder) might be caused by binding.
It's like the tenderness I'd get with pms, but a whole lot more intense.

I'll discuss at my nurse appointment next month, but wondered if you guys experience this.

I never experienced anything like this, but others may have.  If it's suddenly developed and is continuing that long after having been binding, then it could be something related to hormones and your cycle (or lack of one).  I'd bring it up for sure with your nurse - are there any other symptoms that you've been experiencing that coincided with the onset of this one?

I would make a list of your symptoms and bring them up with your doctor, especially if there are changes like nipple discharge or excruciating pain. Could be an inflamed duct or a fluid-filled cyst, both of which can be treated.

I've had excruciating pain in the same spot. It would randomly come and hurt to the point of keeping me from sleeping. I just waited it out until surgery and then my pathology came up negative so I didn't do anything about it. Haven't had the same pain since surgery so whatever it was must of been removed.

Ah. I'm not on T yet. Great question. And the pain is in both breasts. I didn't get this pain when first binding, though I got super itchy. It helped somewhat to wear a thin tshirt under my binder.
No other symptoms going on. I had a hysterectomy years ago, but still have my overies and believe I still cycle. But I'm 43, so maybe this is some horrific beginning of menopause.
I'm overdue for a mammogram, so I'll probably do one last one before I get top surgery next year.

Could be many reasons for the pain, since you still have ovaries you can still go through a monthly hormone cycle with no bleeding and being close to menopause you can have hormone changes that can give you pain in the breasts too.  Then you could have had them in a different position in binding that caused the pain.  If the pain continues definitely get it checked out you don't want something serious to be the cause.  And it could be something that will make you eligible for insurance to pay to their removal. Good luck whatever is the cause.
