After my first at-home waxing session I had fairly decent success. Definitely room for improvement but good enough to be happy with it and not much pain for my tolerance level (surprisingly for having sensitive skin).
Anyway, I tried moving to the "bikini" area and had, well, conflicting results.
To start, I've been on HRT for...well it's hard to say, technically it was a year in march but the first 6 months was on the absolute minimum dosage (which is apparently only for patients at high-risk of bloodclots/stroke etc...which I'm not, so I have no idea why I was on it), after that 2 months on a higher dose and 6 months on the max. So while it's technically been over a year the results are depressingly far from indicating that.
Now, I'm fairly lucky in having fairly fine hair all over naturally, no back hair or chest hair (hooray for early start!) other than peach fuzz, and the same for cheek/sideburns. That would probably explain why I had an easy time with waxing. Oddly, though, my nether regions is ridiculously coarse. Like metal filings coarse. So when I tried to wax there, it barely gripped a quarter of the hairs, and even then it tore the skin a little, leaving the lovely red dots where those few hairs that were ripped out with skin and all.
Even more odd though was that it didn't hurt any more than anywhere else, but I don't want to damage the skin badly, so I'm still not sure how to go about this. Are there some other methods of removal that would thin it out before I can start waxing? I heard that hair removal cream can do this. Or is it that I'm just stuck having to wait until HRT kicks in and starts thinning the hair naturally?
