I have been taking the lower dose of finasteride since before HRT.  I also take dutasteride.

My prescription for finasteride expired and the doctor refused to refill it.

Does anyone know if I even need the finasteride anymore since dutasteride is more potent?

I am not a doctor.

I had the same thing happen to me but I am left with finasteride. My PA said I did not need dutasteride.

My particulars:
T 24 ng/dl, high dose finasteride, oral E and AA. The E has sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). I do not know my free T but it must be extremely low as I am regrowing a lot of hair.

If you are on spiro and E, then I believe you won't even need dut or fin. Seriously, you're chemically castrated for all intents and purposes.

I'd get a panel done to check your DHT levels to confirm this.

I don't take spiro, and am having the orchi on July 15 anyway.  I just wanted to avoid a trip to the doc if I could.

Also dutasteride has a 4 week half life while fin is 8 hours. So you definitely won't be needing fin if you are taking dutasteride.
