and let me tell you, it is MUCH harder than I thought!  I'm on of the Sunday School teachers at our church, but not the head teacher.  The head teacher usually gives us the lesson and we just teach it.  However, It was laid upon my heart to come up with my own lesson, and that is the simple path of salvation, and how salvation can never be lost (OSAS).  I told the head teachre that I wanted to come up with my own lesson and she was okay with that.  Now I am to type it up and send it to her so she can print it off. I admit, th lazy part of me has put this off for a couple of weks, and it probably won't be finished for a couple or more weeks (despite how relatively short it is), but I am slowly working towards it.  We have had an influx of teenagers come to our church and the class has become so big that we have split them up into two seperate classes, which for the most part I like because I can focus better with a smaller group.  The only reason I'm not 100 percnt big fan of it because that means there will be another teacher teaching my lesson and I'm not sure how he/she will deliver it whereas I know how I will deliver it.  Then I don't even know if that particular teacher will agree with me so that could pose a problem.  I'll try to figure out a solution to that along the way even if that means I have to teach the same lesson twice, which I don't mind.  There's also a class of younger kids that I teach around ages 5-11.  I will be teaching the same thing to them, but I will tailor it to their ages.  Regardless of the age, I will be teaching them the Gospel I wish I had learned as a child.

I just wanted to share this.  To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, please keep me in your prayers if you wish, that I can get this lesson planned into a timely manner and that the students will listen to it with open ears and recive the Gospel, if need.  Thank you.  :)

The work is well worth it.  I have written many Sunday School/Bible study lessons over the years.

Good luck and my prayers are with you.

I'll be praying for you and the success of your lesson.

Thank you Sarah and Constance.  :)  Ironically, the head teacher called said that my lesson this week will be about salvation, and she's putting it in my mailbox in the morning, so when I get it, I'm going to find a way to combine the two lessons.  She also said that she's splitting the teens up and I'm going to have the girls while the guys will be learning about Moses.  I found it a little bit weird that they will be learning diffrerent lessons, but hey, it's all from the Bible so it's good.  :)  I figured that I'm not going to stress too much about having a cookie utter lesson as sometimes, the lesson doesn't always go directly as planned so I will use it more as a guide.  :)

Will do, Constance!

The head teacher for whatever reason, thought that I didn't want it printed so now I'll be bringing my laptop. -_- She's going to bring her Ipad, but I don't know how to work one of those...

Wow.  And if anyone is clear about salvation and has a great message... it's you.  Perfect for you.

Hope it goes well and enjoy it...

It didn't go as I planned.  At first, it was going well.  The girls were really into it and listening and asking questions.  I didn't get through all o my sriptures, but I had enough.  However, church ended early and while I dismissed the class, a majority of the girls wanted to stay and listen so I tried to go into more detail, but the head teacher came in and said they had to go, and I told her that theese girls wanted to be saved and I wanted to pray with them.  I told the girls to come back after service so I could finish the lesson, but the head teacher decided to tell the pastor that the girls wanted to be saved and so she lead them to the altar and asked if anyone else wanted to be saved and several people came up.  The spirit moved and people were crying and recieving God again.  While it seemed like a good thing, I was too upset, because if one isn't careful, someone could just be all emotional at the altar, and yet still not underestand salvation.  This has happened to me before so I know.

I was highly upset that I couldn't have a few more minutes with my students, and that the head teacher felt it was ABSOLUTELY neccessary for them go out and hear the announements.  I'm the type of person that likes to follow order of things and today threw me off.

I talked to the pastor and other teacher about how I felt.  They came to the conclusion that God wanted this to happen for a reason.  I'm still trying to figure everything out, but I'm going to finish up my lesson next week, but I'm not sure if the "power" will be there as today.

It sounds like you did a great job of sharing and God touched these girls hearts.

Its a shame you didn't get the extra time you hoped for, but the important thing is what happened in the end, they accepted Christ.

Oh Malachite, I'm so sorry.

-hugs-  It was heartbreaking for me because I was SO close.  I just wish I had did it on another day because usually we have time leftover.  To be honest, I'm still trying to get over it.  I had actually thought about quitting being a Sunday school teacher after I shared the gospel with the rest of the groups.

I tried.  It was one of the best lessons I have ever taught so far because the majority of them were paying attention and very interested.  I'm going to finish it up next week, but will invest deeper into how it's eternal, then look at some objections to what I teach and towards the end, I'm plan on brining 2 or 3 modern Bible versions to show removed scriptures and why they should look into reading the King James Bible.  Then I'll allow for them to write down topics or questions they may have for future references.  I do think their hearts were touched, and even though things didn't happen "exactly" the way I planned, God forbid, if something happens to them before I teach next week, I believe they would probably go to heaven if they took the words I said seriously..

I just hope they are just as interested as they were this past Sunday.  After that, they may have an Easter program that the head teacher wants them to work on, but once that is over.  I would like to teach on the subject of marriage and finding a husband (and even get on the subject of being a virtuous woman), which to be honest, I feel kind of strange teaching that since they see me as a woman, yet when I teach I feel like I'm teaching as a man that wants to find a wife instead of a husband, lol.  Oh the joys of being a closeted a transgender person....

While I feel bad that you did not finish your lesson, the question that I always I have to ask myself is "was GOD speaking THROUGH me, or was I speaking FOR God?.  In the first case the best comes out even if I am dissatisfied with what I did.  In that case, I can see your students coming back, and the rest of your lesson will re-enforce what you taught them and what they put into action at the altar call this past week, your goal reached by God's standards and his love through Christ.  If I put myself in a place to be God's voice, I usually end up with a mess on my hands even though as far as I know, no one has suffered more than a waste of time.  "May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to you my Lord God and Redeemer."  Preface that invocation as though it is a question of personal prayer  "Were the..." in regard to this lesson, and I will bet that God and Christ were perfectly happy with even the incompleteness, and will see that your students have the true message they needed and could go on even if YOU never say another word.

I have been a Church School teacher on many occasions and have ended up with those "OH" moments when "the Boss" told me he was in charge after all, and I was not being thrown down to the barbecue ring. I usually ended up with a warm feeling of spirit anyway, and could chuckle about it.

As one of my pastors quoted one time from an 18th century clergyman -- "Lord fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff, and stop me when I have said enough!"

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Keep fighting the good fight, my friends.  Sorry about all the emotional upheavals for Malachite.  Life gets like that and we have to press on, we live to please the Lord... there is always "stuff".

Well I would say that yesterday went alot worse than last week.   When I was doing a follow up from last week with some questions, especially to the new converts, the general vibe I got based upon the questions and follow up I did told me that many of them still did not understand the concept of Biblical salvation, which I tried to explain more in detail until the head teacher came in and wanted to discuss the Spring Break trip they are going on (as if that was really the appropriate time...) then some of the girls accused me of saying things that I did not say. The teacher told me that I needed to break it down to them in a way they an understand, but the thing was, half of them weren't really paying attention, while a couple of others were attacking me and twisting my words, and making comments under their breath saying how they wish they weren't in here (to which I told them they were free to leave).  When the head teach asked them if someone asked them about salvation, then what would they say.  They all shrugged their shoulders exept for one girl.  I think that may have been very telling about their conversion.  I can't tell for sure because I don't know hearts.  They conversions may have really been legit.  Only God knows.

There is a happy ending to this story though. The head teacher was pressuring me to wrap it up and I told the ladies that those who wanted to know more about the subject could feel free to see me after class.  After the teacher spoke to them, she let them go outside and two of the girs stayed in to get to know more about salvation (both of them were at the alter last week, but one of them didn't go to my class that Sunday).  I showed them a couple of scriptures of how salvation is simple and eternal.  One of them asked questions about possible situations in which salvation could possibly be lost, and I actually had prepared responses for those on Word in my laptop that I let them see.  The girl that wasn't in my class last week expressed to me something like "wow....I get it now"  This girl is about 12 or 13 in the 7th grade I think.  She told me (not exactly) that if the other girls (who were around the age of 14-18)would have stopped attacking me and actually listened then they would have understood.  The same way I spoke to these girls was the same way I was teaching the class.  To make a long story short, I asked if they had anymore questions, they didn't so I made sure they understood the basic concept of salvation and they did so I prayed with them to help them tell God this is what they believe and although I cannot judge the sincerity of the heart, if they were sincere and not just giving me lip service (which I don't think they were), then I believe that I'm going to see those two girls in heaven one day.  Amen and to God be the glory!  I don't expect them to have every doctrine right because I dont', but hopefully they will grow in God and His Word in time.

The interesting the is that there was a third girl that was near us.  Church had let out by then so I thought she was just spectating, but when I lead the other two girls into prayer, she was praying too (and I made sure to tell them beforehand that the prayer isn't what saves someone) so I may be seeing that third girl in heaven too one day.  :)

All in all, it was definately worth it.  :)  The tipping point for me was when the young girl said that she "got it".  That made me smile on the inside.  She also asked if she could have a copy of those scriptures I had (I had about 8 pages of scriptures and couldn't get through all of them) so I will do my best to get those to her as soon as I can!  In fact, I'm probably just going to print out my entire lesson and just give that to her as a guide to help her be a possible soul-winner in the future.

Just a small little update:  I had found out that at least one of the girls had went up to the altar beause another girl had begged her to, telling her that she didn't want to go up there by herself....

I'm not quite sure what to say about that....
