I'm on injections right now for a month & just injected my 3rd dose. Honestly, they're not working for me. The injections itself isn't bad at all(i'm used to needles) but my leg turns out to be extremely sore for 4-5 days afterwords, i've tried only injecting 3/4 of the needle, but same result.
Anyways, i'm thinking about switching to either Patches or oral estrogen(the kind that desolves under your tongue, not the swallowables because i hear the sublinguals are more effective) Anyways, out of the three which tend to have the best results and least problems? I'm not completely against staying on injections if they are more effective, because effectiveness is the most important factor for me.

Btw, i'm 18 years old mtf.

Injections and implants (fairly new)  are the most effective with least amount of possible detrimental health side effects as it doesn't go through what I believe is called second pass through the liver.
Sublingual from what  understand is taking the same pill but holding it under your tongue until it dissolves,  as far as patches are ,  they are hit and miss with the sometimes not wanting to stick they are however more safer than pills but are controversial effective,  some like then some do not,  and there cost is the highest per dose of the 3.

Long term health injections or implants are the way to go,  however the implant route is much higher,  I might suggest injecting in a different  spot,  like the bum as there is less chance of bruising there, it's where I inject mine,  kinda a pain to do it there yourself but less likely of issues.

An extra thought from someone who has been on here for a bit,  if I knew then what I know now I'd have been on injections long ago,  much better bang for the buck  and by far had my heart better results after I got on injections,  of course I had grs/srs before injections but after the surgery I was still on pills,  and it seems like I was just well maintaining what I had,  but when I went to the injections....... Wow I started a growth spurt and have had more changes then  had in a few years. And I've tried all 3 options,  since your 18 you will most likely have amazing results.

Ya I did some research on what was most effective before I got on T and injections are the best route to go. I sometimes bruise myself when giving myself a shot and like I'll bump my leg against something and feel a twinge of pain but it's usually not too bad. Where is it that you do your injection anyways? Like I do mine in my upper thigh areas and I switch legs every two weeks so that I'm not bruising myself too bad or like... poking one leg with too many holes every week and it gives your one leg to recover while you use the other and then you switch it up.

Some people do it in their rears too cause they find that the best spot cause it is quite frankly nothing but fatty tissue and muscle and it's cushy lol.

I've always taken sub E and I plan on sticking with that unless my endo suggests otherwise.

Thanks all!
& Kade, i've been injecting mine in the quad(upper thigh) area. & this last injection was a lot better, my leg is only a little sore today and before my leg would always getting like sore to the point that i was limping around lol. I think it was that i'm too skinny to inject the entire needle, because this last time i just injected about 3/4 of it.

That could be. My legs are a bit.. "round" rofl. So there's a lot of cush there. Also it could be that you were injecting it too quickly? I was told to do it slow and steady. My first shot left a nasty bruise cause the nurse just pretty much shoved it in and pushed and was like k done. A buddy of mine who's been on T for like five years was liek THIS IS THE PROPER WAY TO DO IT lol
