Hi everyone! I just got my passport today and wanted to share my experience/how I did it.
I'm currently only a couple of months on hrt, and have been full time onle since the end of last september (2013).
Therefore I don't have a gender recognition certificate.What I
do have, and what you need for a passport, is your deed poll done, and a letter from your GP saying that your transition is likely to be permanent (along with all the other required documents outlined in the passport application process).
Obviously I'm not trying to give anyone a shortcut, and your GP will definitely need to feel this is true, but just trying to give some advice out there to anyone who didn't know you can get a passport without a gender recognition certificate in the UK!
Hope this helps
