Hey girls,

i loved having the surgery and i love being post op, the only thing i have been dissapointed with is that the scars are so big where the surgery took place it kinda looks unnatural. The BF dosn't care at all but it bothers me i hate them if i could change a thing then thats what i would change about the surgery. Dr.Brassard left me with huge scars! but i am still happy with the result

Vitamin E oil.  Buy the gel caps.  Pierce the end with a needle and rub the oil on the scars.

Also use Scar Zone.  I have used it and it works just as well.

Some people, like me, develop more and harder scar tissue. How long time ago was your srs? My scars have had a long period of slow improvement and becoming softer.

I second the rec for vitamin E! Also the part about how some people scar more than others; I tend towards visible but not raised scars, which actually worked pretty well with Brassard's placement of incisions on me. (By now, which isn't yet the one-year mark, scars on the outer labia are fading to pinkish and mostly well hidden by hair. I only have one really obvious scar anymore, and it's a 1" scar high up on the mons where the drain was - so not a dead giveaway.) Hopefully with time and further healing, they'll fade for you too.

Yeah, I have the scars too...but hair covers them well enough so that you wouldn't even know. I was worried just after surgery that I would have huge nasty visible ones or bad scar tissue or granula. Fortunately, just the pair, covered by hair, hardly even know they're there... a reasonable trade for what was there before, neh?

I´ve been using this product. It´s so much easier to use than capsules and you get more for your money. Still five drops of this is the daily dose so it cant be weaker.

I too use vitamin E oil, almost every night and do not wear pants when applying. I also use retinol once a week.

I had some stitch lines come apart (especially at the bottom on the outside) and they basically look like big veins now. I'll give the Vit E a shot, though.

Wow I have these Brassard scars too! And I'm 1.5 yrs post op. They don't bother me that much though. I've told guys I had a cyst on my cervix remove and they don't ask any questions.

don't use topical vitamin erepeated studies have shown that not only does it not help with scars, it can lead to adverse reactions.

I've found this to be true as well. Avoid topical Vitamin E treatment as they can actually have an adverse effect as to scar healing.

Do you have keltoid scarring by any chance? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keloid

I am a Brassard alum and I have keltoid scarring. A year after surgery I had a follow up and he looked at them and offered to do a revision to attempt to minimize the scars more. I haven't had it done yet but I do know that now after 2 years my scarring I still slowly diminishing so you may still see changes up to a few years out

I was recommended by Chet to use Mederma skin care for my trachea scar and it works excellent. It's a gel that you apply to the scar over night and then rub off in the morning.
