Hopefully they had ear phones on or something!
It really freaks me out that women are so chatty in the lady's restroom, not that I mind talking its just that in that confined echo chamber even my girl voice sounds deep to my ears.
The person that rattled the door handle had a child with them which made it worse

I went to a support group meeting with the same girl friend one time; I needed to pee but we got there late so I had to wait until the meeting was over and then I made a beeline for the women's room. Sure enough someone came in right behind me, used the stall next to me, and started chatting.
*gulp* My girl voice came out that time thank heavens - and you are right about the echo chamber effect - I still sounded deeper than I wanted to.
I am at the point where I need to be able to fluidly switch between my boy & girl voice since I have to present both ways for the next few months; I keep forgetting to mentally think about which voice to use, or I try to use my girl voice and it doesn't work and I croak something out instead.
I think that I need to discuss this with my voice coach.
