A South African delegation to the United Nations Economic and Social Council should on Friday vote for the recognition of two international NGOs to represent lesbians and gays, the gay community said.

"As such, South Africa will have an opportunity to cast a significant vote that will impact on international human rights, specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people." the national Joint Working Group said in a statement.
