(Sorry if this topic is in the wrong category, I'm new here.)

In a few months, my boyfriend and I plan to go to Dallas, TX to get him started on testosterone. However, he prefers not going to therapy, but he does want to get the doctors help with levels, knowing how to inject the shots, and etc. We were wondering if it's possible to skip the therapy and still get help from the hospital on his health and how to do it all. We are also curious if skipping therapy will cause him to not be able to get surgeries in the future or other risks.

There are some informed consent clinics that will prescribe hormones without therapy (Planned Parenthood comes to mind).  There are a couple of top surgeons that will operate on informed consent too.  When it comes to bottom surgery, I do believe one needs to obtain therapy letters for that.

Thanks for the response! Though, this makes me curious, is this amount very small? We're just starting out in our life and we're pretty limited on where we can go and how much we can spend, but we want to try for T as soon as we can.
We saw a list of therapists for it and found three in Texas so if you have a list of those who can accept the informed consent, that'd be great!

Sadly most trans care is out of pocket. Some insurance will cover it, but they are few and far between. :)
