Steph

Well I have to start packing my bags tonight and tomorrow night.  I fly to England to see my mom and dad on Saturday, July 21st.  I'll be staying with them and visiting my other relations until I fly out on Sunday July 29th.  For some reason I'm really really nervous.  I think it's because of all the airport security and it will be my first international trip (post-op)

Steph, don't worry about the flight. You have your passport and everything is in order, so don't worry. Have a fun time. I have flown internationally too and I was not bothered by anyone.

Actually its 10:30pm here (6hrs ahead of "Susan's time") .... so its not exactly sunny but rather dark  ;D  !

Today was a fine day here in London, sunny 20 deg C / 68 deg F, the first for what seems like weeks without any rain .... but June was the wettest since UK records started and seems July is heading that way too  :(  ....

Guess what ... rain is forecast again for the weekend  ::) , but next week looks a lot more promising.

Steph, where do your folks live ?  Just that if they happen per chance to be "on my doorstep" it would be so fustrating to have not met up however briefly to say hello !

And don't worry about airport security, as a departing / arriving Canadian national you'll be waved through your local passport stuff, and UK is usually no hassel.

BUT A BIG WARNING .... don't consign your dilators to hold luggage .... my luggage was delayed by three days in Heathrow on my post-op return from Canada and thank Christ the dilators and meds were in my hand baggage !  Sure my dilators were "found" as I passed thru Montreal security and all the official commented was "Medical equipment ?" Guess they've seen them before  ;)

Mom and dad living in Birmingham, it's where I was born, well Smethwick.  I'm arriving at Heathrow on Sunday morning July 22nd at 7:30 AM your time.  Mom and dad will be there to meet me, but if you are there it would be great to meet.  I'm arriving on Air Canada Flt 862.

Thanks for the heads up on the dialators.  I have a letter from my Dr stating that they are need for post-op vaginal care!  i will have them in my hand luggage.

Thanks for the information Laura, and thanks to everyone else for their kind words.

Now to get back to packing... I think I can squeeze that kitchen sink into one of the corners of the bag if I leave some shoes behind :)
