Need help with coming out!!

Hi guys.
Long story short. I have to come out as trans to my boss and tell him I had a name change TODAY, but he's out of town this week so I need to send an email. I have no idea what to write, I'm socialy awkward and can't always figure out the appropriate things to say. This is really awkward for me when I can't talk to him face to face. It's a small workplace with few employees, not really an office, so I don't want to sound to formal.

I have no idea what to write! Can someone please give me some advice on this?

The thing is we won't meet for a couple weeks and he needs my personal info for writing a contract.

Yes. But I'm even worse at talking on the phone.
I think I will just write that i had a legal name change and then wait util i can arrange a meeting to explain all of it. Or do you think it's best to tell everything at once?

Hi,  crazy, but I did this yesterday.  First off for him it wasn't much of à surprise.
But I asked him a rehtorical question about dysphoria, and then in a couple of paragraphs told my story.  No embellishment, no apology.  We now ha e a conference call with HR next week, and an all hands meeting scheduled for June 11 to make everything public.  For me it went well.  I hope it goes that way for you.

If they need the name for something right away, tell all in an email perhaps. I still think a phone call would be best, but if that is too difficult to do then a short but informative email will do.

It's been four days and he hasn't answered yet wich makes me feel a bit uneasy. Right now I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

He may just be playing catch up after his time away. I'm sure he will address it, since it is a legal matter he basically has to. Congrats on coming out btw.

waiting is so hard. His delay could be for any number of reasons. Try to hang in there.
