I Didn't Want To Bring Anyone Down in the Yeson VFS Threads

Being that I'm a little sad today, I posted this in a new thread so as not to throw sadness in the midst of others who have had VFS.

After reading many of the "after" surgery replies, hearing before and after results, and what I've researched about VFS here in the US, and knowing the damage that was done to my throat area in my 91 accident, I'm starting to get the impression there is no possibility of my ever having a feminine voice. Maybe I'll be better off learning sign and being mute. I've had horrible results with voice therapy, and if I'd still have to "train" my voice after surgery, I just don't have much hope after reading some of the replies in the VFS threads especially if there's more voice therapy involved.

I don't know maybe I'm misunderstanding what I'm reading.

I'm sorry if my post brings anybody down. Everythings been going so well for me lately, and I've been through so much to get here, and now this. I hate my voice so much. While it doesn't seem to hinder me as far as being gendered correctly as female in public or in person, I 'm constantly getting Sirred over the phone which hurts so much. My only hope was VFS, and now I'm not so sure.

Second, I learned as a Medic not to think anything is impossible until you are physically examined by the best and told they can't help. New procedures come out every day now. Don't give up hope yet, OK? I do know what you mean about voice being important. It is the only impassable trait I have left and it drives me grape nuts! Although the two of us could really mess with people in your boat looking all hot, tan and sexy and then saying thank you for the compliments in Lurch's voice from the Addams Family!  ;D:)

Lmao he, he, he ha ha ha ha!! Yes we could Sis, especially cause we could outrun most of them too, lol!! Down on Okeechobee I was passed twice by a Marine Patrol boat wearing my pink tank and real short white shorts. They just stared, smiled and waved. They didn't bother me at all. I think I  freaked them out -a chick with her own boat fishing alone, ya know? (Pat and her SO were off in her boat down from me a bit when this happened) Your right sis, I do entirely have too much fun with the googey eyes, lol!!. :eusa_dance: Back to my issue, It's just frustrating to pass so well in public and in person and then get Sirred over the phone all the time. Oh I make a point to correct people on the phone so it doesn't continue. But it's frustrating. I have since posting this heard from the ENT surgeon's office here up in Gainsville. They are trying to schedule me in for the consult asap. I figure it won't hurt to let the local Doctors examine me and see what they say can be done before making any more costly decisions, as this is covered by my insurance.

Thanks for the hug and reassurance Sis, I really needed a boost in confidence.

Hugs. :icon_hug: :icon_hug:
