well as the title says.. im going to disneyworld with my girlfriend this summer
im buying a waterpark pass because she loves waterparks

i havent been to a waterpark (or swam.. public or privately) since i was like 6
ive always been self conscious espectially about my chest, hips and thighs

does anyone have any tips on if i could buy a binder (..cheap) that can be used in the water
or a swim shirt, or full body or something

and packers homemade or bought that can be in water

i dont know for sure, but im guessing its chlorinated water

it wouldnt be weird wearing a surf shirt or unitard, bodysuit thing at a waterpark..would it?

basically im using all $600 of my 18th birthday for this trip
but i could haggle some of my family to buy me a binder or swim suit or something if the price is reasonable

I don't think it would be weird to wear one to a waterpark.  If you are concerned then maybe you could throw a shirt on to so it won't be as obvious.

I have used this as a swim top because it just looks like I'm wearing a tank top, and I'd rather look like I'm just wearing a tank top than a wetsuit. Also they are really cheap and come in different colors. Beware of the sizing though! They run extremely small because they are Asian sizes so read the sizing chart.

Don't worry about  binding and packing. no one will hassle you. It's going to be hot and muggy, D-world is really LGBT friendly (or at least has really good security), and you will look perfectly normal next to the real freaks that show up there. The very worse thing that could happen to you is getting clocked as a lesbian couple.

Just wear baggy men's hiking shorts, a tightish sportbra/tanktop, or vented binder, and a loose shirt (extra points for a guyavera). Emphasis on loose airy and comfortable.

Rash guards are good too. There are cheap ones at Walmart or Target ($10-15) or on Amazon. And yes, the water will be chlorinated. Make sure to wash everything out *really* well. I agree, everything I have heard is that it's all very LGBT friendly, which makes it likely (just a warning from what I have seen the more LGBT friendly, the more likely you are to be read as lesbian-- a weird little irony I've found). Be ready for it and have a good time anyway.

Having worked there for a good four years, I can confirm that they're LGBT friendly. Their stance is that Disney world is a place for all families, not just ones that certain religions find acceptable.  In fact, there's a yearly Red Shirt Day that happens. It's an unofficial gathering and celebration for LGBT folks and families. Usually you'll find picketers out front protesting it, but to Disney, Red Shirt Day is just another day. Though having said that there are a lot of employees who will wear red shirts to show their support. Disney is dedicated to make sure that everybody feels welcome at their parks, and if somebody harasses you, you can be assured that security will take care of it.

This is totally not the point of this thread but I just wanted to throw out that I actually had a really bad time last time I went to Disney in Florida because of the bathroom situation. If you're going with your girlfriend only, you should be fine, but I struggled because I was with people I wasn't out to, but I couldn't make myself use the women's bathroom. Not only was I not comfortable with it, but I know I'd get weird looks, if not questioned. I expected, hearing that they were so LGBT friendly, for there to be a unisex or family bathroom that I could use, but no, only huge multi-stall bathrooms. Maybe they hide them or something because I never found one. I actually meant to send them a letter about this and I forgot. Anyways, if it's just you and your girlfriend I bet you'll be fine.

As for more on-topic; I'd say just get a binder and a rash guard or T-shirt. At every waterpark I've been to, there's tons of people walking around in rash guards or wet shirts. They're great because it's sun protection that you don't have to take off on the slides and stuff. For the binder, from what you've said, I'd recommend an underworks 997 or something like that. For packers, I don't know anything about the chlorine and the packers so I can't help much :/

I've heard packers aren't bothered by chlorine. For sure silicone could handle it. Tranzwear has somewhat cheap silicone packers. I think you could wear a mr limpy in a swimming pool/ water park.

I took my kids to waterworld a while ago.I just wore a tshirt to cover the boobies to sunbathe or swim.The only thing I couldn't do was the waterslides as the rule at the time was no shirts

yeah im out to her, but i havent transitioned at all around here because her parents feel its inapproriate for children to know trans/gay/whatever me and her are merely "best friends" (they have like 5 kids younger than 10yo)
my dad is fine with it but he doesnt think its something that should be done in public
my sister is creepily over-supportive xD

i of course wear a girl uniform at school, and i dont use the girls bathroom teachers and students usually know or think either im transgender or just a weirdo
of course its great if they know or understand im trans, but im not offended that much by being called a weirdo going to use the men's restroom; i dont use the toilets anyway, i am in theatre and cosplay club, i only change clothes there

They do have family bathrooms. I would just wear a tritop or something with a rash guard. People in these theme/water parks don't pay a lot of attention to you anyway from my experience.

I worked at the parks for many years. There is a red shirt day at the park during Pride Week for Orlando, and you can find a lot of employees wearing red that day under their respective uniforms. I don't know if it still happens but their was a religious group that would picket on the property as you came into the resort area. There are family bathrooms around but no gender neutral ones. The pools are pretty cool with rash guards and various shirts. The waterparks can get picky about t-shirts but they tend to let the dry-fit and clingy shirts go through no problem.

Cotton T-shirt tend to be a problem in pools. The fibers break off and plug the filters. It may seem a small thing, but if you had any idea how much dead skin alone gets in those filters, you would be truly amazed.

seriously, wdw is one of the most accepting places i've been to so i wouldn't worry too much
