while watching porn (OH NOES! SHUSH) i notice a lot of the actors have awesome tattoos
and for my 18th birthday, ill finally be able to get a tattoo without my dad's permission
but the thing is, i look at girls and i want their tattoos
i love men's tattoos also but the ones i usually see are just too.. generically "masculine" that i feel that id begin to hate myself if i had ever gotten one of them like "barbed wire around the bicep"
instead i like birds and hearts and lock&keys and stars

i think this would look good on me honestly

im a very effeminate guy but am i TOO girly?
my computer is decked out in cupcakes and sparkles (its bad im serious xD)

i love this tattoo also

but then id love this tattoo as well xD

anyone know or have any piercings thatd maybe drive attention away from too feminine of areas on my face or attention to more masculine areas (if that makes sense)
like i feel a monroe piercing is more feminine than snakebites, though i understand many girls have snakebites too but when i hear snakebites, i think of them on a guy

plus i already have a monroe mole that girls are jealous of for some reason, i dont think its cute at all

That arm tattoo looks pretty sweet imo and not feminine at all.  The other tat, well, honestly I don't think it'd be weird for you to get, although it is a bit feminine.  I don't really know much about piercings but that one looks very feminine to me, maybe try something other than a star and more simple? Not really sure on that one. But honestly, if you like it you like it - I see no issues with it if it's something you wanna get. As for being too girly, you're you and that's perfect no matter how fem or masculine you are.  If you like more feminine tats and piercings I say to heck with what culture says and do what makes you happy.

I'm with Evan. It's going to be there the rest of your life or until you either cover it up or laser it off so stick with what you'd want to look at for decades and not what everyone else thinks is going to fit you instead.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

Of course if you intend for it to emphasis your masculinity, birds, flowers, and cupcakes are probably not the best choice. :D

Well everyone has their own taste I guess, I have a tattoo of a japanese dragon on my arm.. which is also very manly, but I understand you point.
If you really want to get those.. go for it! But they are feminine (the lower arm sleeve isn't imo) but the other ones eh..
Just stay close to yourself, you can wear them manly, maybe just don't place 'em on girly areas like hips trampstamp area etc.
Just my advice :)

Just do what makes you happy and what you wanna live with for a long long time. If you like those tattoos and you can see yourself with them in 40 years, then go for it.

Piercings are a lot more forgiving and will heal up when you take them out for a while. You have a lot more room to experiment with piercings, especially if you are not stretching too big. I would just go for it and if you don't like how it looks, take it out. Do consult a piercer on proper wound care though.

You could always "test drive" with a custom temporary tattoo. It'd be a hassle but you could even repeatedly apply the same design to have it longer, but it'd be a heck of a lot easier to remove if you changed your mind.

If I got every tat that I thought was cool when I was 18, I'd be covered in regret now.

I'm 45 now and am glad I never inked myself like most of my friends did.  I know a lot of people who got cheap tats that just look like splotchy blobs now.

Still have the same nostril piercing from 1991 though.

Not my personal taste, but honestly its your body... Do what you want.

This is coming from someone who doesn't mind tattoos, but doesn't have any personally.  I always say I will... Just never have.  Plus I'm cheap, and they're expensive.  [edit: just saw the bird picture.  I like that one.  The fact that its distinctly on a kinda sexy lady in that picture doesn't help making it look girly.  I think the placement is more feminine then the tattoo itself though.]

As far as anything about things being too girly goes really.  I think thats bull.  If it fits you and you like it then its not too much anything.  We spend too much time (not just as trans folk, but just people in general) worrying about being too girly or not masculine enough.  Its not up for us to say if you're too girly.  It sounds so lame, but just be you... and like everyone else said: remember you're going to have whatever you decide to get forever.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Those do look sweet but alittle feminine yes, certain piercings may be considered alittle feminine but if your talking ear piercing I wear the big silver circled ones, My sex appeal has went up from just that ss far as tats being feminine depending on where you put it, it could be considered feminine also like for an example I plan on getting to tats, Praying hands on my shoulder and a bible scripture quoted on my chest but those would be considered masculine because of the placement as gnomekid said where the tat is placed at could make it girly or manly
keep working hard and you can get anything you want.    -Aaliyah

if i have to, ill censor it more
i just wanted the location and tattoo itself to be more visible

ive always loved the idea of white ink tattoos
theyre so cool imo
and my bones are the only things ive ever liked about myself besides my hands
im weird and have always liked anatomy and dissecting things
i asked my gf to date me after i told her all the things id like to pull out of a human body and discover
im.. a bit twisted
i-its fine though because i like to write and draw horror and psychological triller stories and manga

but id want to be tattooed on the bonier parts like hips, hands, side of the wrist, spine, forearm, shin, knee, foot, ankle

i also have size 8 guages in my first lobe piercing
i have 2 helix on my right ear, and 2 lobe piercings per ear
i want an industrial in my left ear, a tongue ring or series of tongue rings, and mybe even some microdermals

Bird silhouette tats are pretty generic "white girl tattoos" though.

White ink and watercolour tattoos tend to fade very quickly, so if you get them be prepared that you might have to get them touched up quite often.

Just putting it out there.

i thought that white ink tattoo was a tan tattoo, when you go tanning, they sell these things where you can get a "tan tattoo" honestly thought that was it lol anyway the arm tat is mad cool and looks masculine to me, but the other kind of feminine but its your body, so long as your happy, go for it

I think that you should do whatever you want with your body, but I agree with the others that you should try to be careful when picking the placement of the tattoo and what kind of design it is, since it'll be on your body for a long time. But if your thing is cupcakes and sparkles, then just do what you want, don't let people's way of thinking hold you back, though be prepared in case of ignorant people in public :/

I don't think the arm tattoo is feminine, but its not "masculine" either. I think the bird hip tattoo is fem, and the white one that is a heart is too, but you should do what you want, but you may want to put the fem ones in places that people won't see it in public

I don't really like "masculine" tattoo's, barbed wire, tribal, skulls

I want to get a lot of tattoos, I know I want a few quotes, and the pisces koi fish, but I have a "fem" tattoo. its a rabbit, I guess some people may make fun and call it a bunny, but its a rabbit from one of my favorite books watership down.

yeah, I have never seen a guy with a monroe piercing. Fem piercings are monroe, the side of the nose, cheek, lip piercing in the middle

masculine IMO are septum, snakebites, eyebrow

Arm tattoo = yes.

Bird tattoo =  no.

I have a snakebite and love it.  Don't recommend a monroe at all if you're looking to not be taken as feminine.  I'm sure some guys could pull one off, but I'd bet they'd have facial hair or something else to offset it.

Personally I do have bird silhouettes tattooed on my forearm as part of an armband. Raven silhouettes to be exact. I've always gotten complimented on my armband, which has three main parts that all go together. Placement makes the difference and all seven silhouettes are in different poses.

My advice on tattoos is to be absolutely sure you want what you get. Don't get a tattoo based on whether it's girly or not. View tattoos as permanent and get them done by a good artist. Tattoos aren't cheap and removing them or covering them is even more expensive. The goal with ink should be to have a piece that will last you for years. Don't follow fads unless you have a personal connection to whatever the fad is at the moment. (I've been seeing the bird silhouettes a lot around here personally, but that wasn't why I chose to do silhouettes.)

Get a tattoo that means something to you. A significant something to you. Something you would never be ashamed to show. If you think you might be embarrassed to show the ink, don't get it.

For example all of my tattoos were drawn by my own hands, based off of my Native American heritage. I'll be getting two more tattoos, one large piece on my left upper arm that will spread over my left shoulder and down my left pec to cover my top surgery scar. That one will be a koi and koi dragon tattoo because the story of the koi dragon has personal meaning to me and my life. In the background/waves I plan to put the birth dates of all my close family in number format subtly there but somewhat hidden in the background. The second one is a darker take on a dream catcher tattoo that will be more tribal to go with my Native American ink on my right pec area to cover the scar from my top surgery.

Another thing to consider is what career you want as that will often limit how much, if any, ink can be shown openly.

Research the styles you like also because they might actually carry some meaning. Most styles of body art do.

Piercings are something I had at one time but now I only have my tongue pierced again and one ear that I remove the stud from when I go to work. The thing with piercings is that they can be removed, but again they cost money so it's a good idea to be moderately sure what you want. Snakebites are fairly masculine, the only girls I've seen with them are in the more alternative crowd in fact.

Edit: Forgot to add that white tattoos don't always stay. I do have one that is mostly white on my hip/lower stomach area (hurt more than all my other tattoos combined btw). So far it has stayed and looks as good as the day it healed. Looks very ink painting like but not like it did when it was inked freshly, which is common.

Also if you don't like needles tattoos might not be for you. Many tattoos that are complexed and very nicely done are completed over several sessions, which can be hours long. Many tattoos will also need touched up years later depending on how well you retain the ink and if you care for your new art well.

I saw you mention mirco dermals. Research them. A lot. And find a piercer who knows what they are doing. Make sure you get the correct jewelry with proper anchors or they are a painful waste of money and infection IMHO. Personally after reading about and speaking with piercers about them the rejection rate was too high for my tastes. Way too high.

It wasn't a tattoo from what I saw.  It was where a sticker was during the tanning process.  And the picture was posting but an admin removed it because it violates the TOS so it's best if you don't post it again.
