how to make empty lines with blackberry torch?

Hi everyone . I recently got a new old phone lol, a blackberry torch and I don't know how to make empty lines so my posts look more readable.  I've even googled it and it seems to be a common problem with blackberries but I didn't find a solution.                                                                                                   Pressing enter doesn't work, pressing alt then enter doesn't work and pressing space the Whole time just makes it go to the farthest it can go to the right of the screen. There has to be a way to do this? Can someone please help me?
