Ok, so I was walking to the mailbox of my office, walking how I normally walk (i had to practice walking female around 4 months ago and i've already got it down to something I do naturally) and I began to wonder; does hip swinging develop naturally?

Its obvious that ciswomen swing their hips because they have wider hips and it makes walking without swinging their hips impossible (not all ciswomen of course because not every woman has wide hips)

While it's understandable that not all transgirls develop hips because of genetics, its come to my understand that some do, so I grew a curiosity and desire to inquire on here:

Does hip swinging develop naturally after the hormones develop your hips? or is it/will it always remain an act of practice makes perfect regardless of whether you develop hips or not?

This also raises a curiosity on another question: if you ignore pitch for a moment and only consider pronunciation of words, does a voice develop naturally with femininity? I mean what is it that happens in our development that causes men and women speak so differently? It must be a developmental thing based on some alternative function that causes men to slur and speak lazily more often than women, and causes women to speak more clearly and enunciate more often than men. So i also ask this in curiosity: Is our voice simply a product of monkey-see monkey-do? or is it a hormonal or developmentally related result?

It develops naturally. After i started hrt my pelvis shifted a little bit forward and got wider. The wider your hips get the more you will swing. Its cause the gap between the thighs gets wider. Late starter age 25> experience a little bit of pelvis tilting.

awesome :D! well thats nice to know. Seeing as hip development is genetic, the women in my family have wide hips and big butts :3 so i guess i can look forward to swinging hips lol

I didn't really understand that last statement though. What did you mean to say with this:

"Late starter 25> experience a little bit of pelvis tilting."

starting hrt a age 25 up

pronouciation is monky see mokey do. male reduction of pitch is caused by the voice box breaking a puberty. starting hrt before this happent prevents it.

Pelvis tilt means your pelvis shifts more forward giving you more swinging hips. Before the age of 25 some can get a little bit of actual pelvis widening cause your pelvis is not properly fused. But after that age you bones stop growing. You can still get a pelvis tilt though.

Yep I've actually developed wider hips than my mom. Like others have said it just sways naturally. If I try to walk a different way, it becomes uncomfortable, which ends up causing back pain. It's either I carry my weight in the hips or suffer chronic pain. However I had wide hips prehrt. During those years I forced myself to walk like a guy, which of course caused me a bunch of back problems. I'm just happy I finally feel comfy walking after so many years of pain  ;D

Before starting hormones I did practice a little bit, just to see what it was like. But I didn't do it much or intend to adopt it. However I noticed that I did start doing it occasionally when I wasn't trying. Now that I'm a few days from 5 months on E I have noticed that I'm doing it more often than not. Especially if I'm walking fast (I'm one of those people who just has to walk really fast everywhere). I'm not actually trying, it's just happening. I have not really paid attention to my hips in a while, didn't expect any change there. It could be a subconscious expression, but I have found that if I let them swing a bit when fast walking, my movement feel so much more fluid and natural. That's new. Also makes me feel self conscious though, not sure if the swing is exaggerated or something. Might not even be noticeable, but I don't have the space available to watch myself in a mirror.

Speech thing is environmental. Most people in my family are quite 'proper' spoken with regards to pronunciation and clarity with no one speaking lazily. Regardless of gender.
