It is legislation that is a Trojan Horse for the government to seize the Internet.  Plain and simple, if you make Internet a public service almost all of the major internet providers have flat-out said "We will not spend a dime in the infrastructure."  I paraphrase but that is the gist of it.

There goes all of the innovation and improvements.  Internet cables will be just as every bit of a pile of crap as any US highway.  Marked with potholes and collapsing bridges.

So not only will Internet service be slower and more unpredictable because of terrible infrastructure, it'll be hobbled down by FCC bureaucrats gumming it up with other regulations.  Let's not forget the revelation brought forth through great sacrifice by the honorable Edward Snowden, the government will keep close tabs on your internet usage.  Are you ready for some rank-and-file government bureaucrat to have access to your credit card numbers? Bank Account Passwords?  Work-sensitive emails that may contain industrial secrets?  Your Facebook page?  Your Google+ Account? How about getting taxed for every MB of data usage?

That's what Liberal Democrats want.  More involvement in your life, more of your money, and more for their perverts to abuse when it comes time to do so.

The government has been trying to do this for several years now. Google sold out to the government. Both parties want to take control of the internet. What tees me off is that today's liberals and conservatives (they are corporatists) never stand up for anything. They're lap dogs for the corporations.
