I've recently starting working there and I know on the job list thing that lists jobs by rank and how they help out the LGBT community with health and benefits, Att scored a 100. But I can't find out where to get the info on the exact specifics on the health and benefits like what they cover and not cover for transgenger employees. If anyone does work there, where I can find it or know what they cover and not cover?

Really, I have united healthcare, but I don't work for AT&T, is there a place you can go to find out if it covered without raising an employers eyebrows?  If employers pick and choose what is in it, I am assuming my employer opted out of that part, but since it is a govt entity, maybe they have to.

What I'm worried about and wanting to find out is if its covered out of country. I plan to have GRS in Montreal and getting my VFS done over at Yeson.

That's really exciting if it's true that GRS is covered under United Healthcare under your plan.

I have United Healthcare myself, and it's not covered, unfortunately :(

They recently listed their Gender Identity Disorder coverage guidelines, and states that most United Healthcare standard policies do not cover SRS at all.

"Coverage Limitations and Exclusions
Standard plans exclude coverage for gender identity / gender dysphoria surgery."

I hope you're one of the lucky ones that have better than a 'standard' policy!

It only covers doctors in the US. I did call, they would not give me a list, but told me to make a list and they would see who was in the plan ?It is also a long process with lots of burning hoops to jump through, but it is also very doable it just takes time and a plan. You should be able to ask your manager for the benefits number and website and be able to find out for yourself. I started working there in 1968 and finally gave it up a few years ago,I am glad to be out of the rat race.  :)  Patty
