So I have been self medicating for about 3 years , because of how hard it was to find doctors to prescribe hormones in this area, I used to get it via prescription but the LGBT Clinic shut down. due to lack of funding. well the site I used to buy from changed their policy to require a prescription to order from them so I spent all of last week looking for a doctor and I finally found a few that would be willing to treat me. I see this doctor on Thursday at 10am and hopefully I will get some on that day. It had also gotten expensive buying them on the internet.

I'm glad you found a doctor and hope it all works out. Legal is always better when it comes to HRT.

So I saw this doctor yesterday and she is really nice and also extremely knowledgable in this field. I was prsecribed Estrogen , Spira, and Provera. It's great to have this thru a script for once.

You save a ton of money by going thru a Doctor and getting a prescription. Self-medicating, for so many reasons, is costly, both medically and financially. Drug cost on internet sites that allow users to bypass physicians charge astronomical prices. By seeing a physician, you not only will be monitored, get the proper dosages, but the drug prices are almost nil. And the peace of mind is invaluable.

If you notice any depression/anxiety or irritability, advise your doctor immediately. This may be a side-effect of Provera. You also may want to discuss why she prescribed Provera instead of bio-identical progesterone (Prometrium) since the latter neither (it seems, according to some studies) increases breast cancer risk in women or risk of DVT as it does with Provera or has androgenic effects which Provera does. Prometrium is also known to relieve in some, depressive and anxious symptoms and improve sleep. You can just simply discuss with her and ask her. She must have a reason so try and find out, perhaps. And let us know. ;)

Congrats on starting HRT. :) I hope all goes well.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

Some take it only a few days every month, others every day. It depends. Ask your doctor. 6 pills is VERY little!
