<snerk> Yes, I do feel like one... at last.

I'm pleased to have found this forum -- it seems it's not easy to find forums where trans people (especially ftms) are actively posting. This feels like a great community, and I'm excited to join it.

I've just started my transition, sort of late in life. Long story short, I've been a life-long dyke, knowing perfectly well that I didn't identify as a woman but trying to live up to that whole feminist shtick about gender being socially constructed and women being able to be whoever they are. Spent decades constructing a life that would allow me to do that, and... it wasn't enough.

I feel pretty lucky -- there are great resources for trans people where I live, and coming out to my partner, friends, and family has been pretty smooth so far. I'm expecting some bumps on that road as I progress with transitioning (I'm about two months on T now, and it's just barely starting to have some effects), so the more support, the merrier.

Looking forward to connecting with some fine people here -- especially with older guys. It seems we're pretty thin on the ground...

A big warm welcome to the family Tysilio! It will not take you very long to find out this is a true family. We have our moments, but when someone needs help, everyone responds pretty well. Feel free to rant, vent, share good news (we like that a LOT), learn or just have some distracting fun and meet the rest of the family. Here is a BIG HUG  :icon_hug: to welcome you and make you feel right at home! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome, Jessica! I'd add that another thing I've noticed while lurking here is that your forums are super well moderated, and that makes a huge difference. I know first-hand how much work that is.  ::)

At least, in my experience, it's mostly one into other people's insanity... although not always.  :eusa_wall:

Thanks, guys. I'm going to enjoy finding a home here, I think.  ;D

Didn't mean to be ageist about meeting older guys; there's definitely some sort of age/experience trading ratio around this transition stuff, and I'm pretty "young" when it comes to all this. (Not to mention that my "internal" age, how I feel inside, is, oh, about 37... and let's not even get into mental age.  :icon_confused2:)

Hi Tysilio.  I was glad to come across your post and the replies to it.  I'm in a very similar situation.  Although I'm new too (and haven't actually posted my intro yet) welcome.
