Hi! I am rather verbose and caffeinated.

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself.

I am a young (in certain circles) non-binary/trans person trying to finish up my last quarter of a Bachelor's Degree in psychology (it's been a long time coming -- also, don't worry, I won't try to "psychologize" you, I got out of that habit years ago).

I've also recently found myself in the company of some FTM guys who really have re-awoken some feelings in myself that I hadn't spent time experiencing for a long while.

Until these past few months, I've been presenting as female and using female pronouns for basically all of my life, but it has never fit, so I've been looking for a community that supports my real identity.

I like to use ze/hir pronouns, because they have similar tonality to he/she/his/her and it's acoustically appealing to me. But I also like they/them and I get a huge kick out of being called Sir!

I feel like I'm just at the very beginning of a long journey, that has been stagnated for a while by various circumstances (for instance, as soon as I moved out of my parental home, I moved straight in with a straight cis-male partner, with whom I am still living).

I'm glad to have found this place and very eager to listen, learn, and share, and hopefully become part of the community here.

Thanks to Susan and all the moderators & staff for making this place available!

PS. My username is completely new to me (I don't want any undesirable people from my past to find me here) and I chose it because I am trying to recapture the power and strength of my own voice, which I have kept quiet for so long. I am learning the dynamics of myself.

As you can tell, music is very important to me. I'd love to meet any fellow musicians!

And now I'm off to go write a paper about music's effects on the brain so they'll let me graduate from this place! Have a great evening, everyone!

A big warm welcome to the family PF! :) We are so glad to have you here and rest assured this is a safe and caring place full of compassionate people who support and will be here for you. I was into Drum Corps when I was younger in the brass section. I played Mellophone, Baritone, trumpet and flugelhorn. I even had the closing field solo one year. I sure miss the crowds and atmosphere! Seems there are a lot of musicians here as well as artist's (check out Dalex and Colleen), engineers, pilots and more. Seems we are a talented lot us trans folks. here is a BIG HUG  :icon_hug: to welcome you and make you feel right at home!  :)

Thanks for the welcome!

I checked out the policies, and there is nothing I object to, but now you've got me curious about the sexuality section... All in good time, I suppose.

I am fascinated by how well-regulated this community is -- though it makes sense, because it's hard to keep online places safe from trolls and hateful people.

Still grateful!

(Incidentally, does anyone know if the initials "pf" are taken? I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes.)

You wouldn't believe the effort it takes! We have a great group of "Trollbusters" here though.

As far as I can find there is no PF here. :)
