OB/GYN

well i have to see an OB/GYN, knowing that, i dont know what to say when i call them. i have my referral from my doctor. any advice?

Unless there is a problem, treat it like any other doctor's visit and let them take the lead/  Engage in a conversation after they start. An OB/GYN is just another doctor.

now my other question is, my endo said i needed to start high dose estrogen, thus she said i needed to see an OB/GYN. what that mean? usually i here people on start low does than work their way up

I know its a great idea to have one ready when you have your surgery.

my endo wants me to go to one to start my hormones so i'm pre hrt right now lol

Generally, they start low dose and go up from there. However, I cannot think of a reason why you need to see an OB/GYN for HRT.   I know of an OB/GYN who prescribes hormones but that seems different a you are seeing an endo.  Maybe I'm missing something.  Could you go through this with a little more detail?

hell, like i would know why i need to see one lol. she sounded serious. i'm in the low normal range, my mental stability i can tell you its out the window and i'm not even considered mental ill anymore. all i know is that my doctor talked to my endo and she said i need to be put on high dose estrogen so i need to see an ob/gyn

My hrt dr is an ob/gyn, so they can multi-task hehe.  Maybe they are just referring you to an ob/gyn that has more hrt experience than them?

Mine is so awesome I cant even tell you and a cool bonus is she has told me that after surgery (if I ever can afford) she can help me with making sure it heals right and everything.  Kind of a one stop shop deal, which can be a nice adv over a regular endo

My endo is an OB/Gyn, they are use to dealing with menopause symptoms so are use to HRT

i just dont want this to be like my endo lol. i have all my blood work, my letter and what not. i know they might want to draw blood again but since i have this, would i get my script the first day?

well i hope the doctor can see me this coming week. cant believe its finally happening. after all these years, countless trips to the impatient facility, 2 death attempts, and hell from other people, its finally happening. but like always, i cant help but get wary for every time i gain a little hope, i get thrust back into reality and fall flat on my face. story of my life; go figure

Depends on the Dr. fo sho.   Mine didn't even care to see my letter, just had me sign informed consent forms.  which was good cause I didn't think to bring it in, she is not my first.

An Ob/Gyn pre-op makes no sense. Pre HRT even less.

Like what are they going to go besides send you a bill?

 From what I know hrt is not that simple.        why a high dose??    those protocols are old. Anne Lawrence is 1 of those who recommends high doses but Dr. is not an endo or oby/gn     was  an anesthesiologist, but fired for inappropriate behavior.   
A high dose doesn't  make your breasts grow any larger than a normal dose.   If that was the case everyone  would go on  high dosages and have giant boobs. 
You might be ok or  High dosages   can make you moody , tired, depressed .   It  can make the triglycerides way too high. Can cause gallstones or make them worse.       all the doctors  know  estrogen  causes gallstones.    If you eat  high  fat foods that is even worse.   Post Op gallstones can get worse.     some had to have their gallbladders removed or stopped taking E
  the pills go through the liver and are converted into  cholesterol.     a normal dose of E in pill form can raise your good cholesterol (GC). As Julia Child would say everything in moderation.
   
THE PATCH and shots  does not seem to cause these problems    but they don't raise your (GC)
  The problem w/ shots is the spike in E then it levels out. The shots are powerful meds and does lower T quite a bit. but it needs labs.    All E needs labs. 
    long term use of HRT when you are over 65 and post op or a cis woman is a big concern.  Pre op or Post
who knows.  IMO   pre op long term is not as bad.

my current T level is 678 and my estradiol level is 15. all i know is my endo told my doctor to send me to an OB/GYN and my doctor gave me a referral to an oOB/GYN. maybe there's something my endo knows and isnt telling me or i'm just so messed up that i need a certain kind of hormone to pick up the pieces.

I would strongly prefer female.  i would not feel ok even with a male dr doing a breast exam, which they will do, let alone post op stuff.  But really, I think the most important thing is whoever will treat you with dignity/is capable.
